Good luck, Southameraustralia. You're going to need it.

it's not too bad. the coalition didn't win the senate and they will have to actually debate things to get them through. my biggest worry was that they'd win majority in both houses which basically lets them pass whatever they want unopposed.
They are going have to deal with a few minor parties to get stuff passed, it will be interesting because no one minor party has balance of power (enough seats to give the gov't majority) so Tony will have to get 2 or 3 of the 8 minors that hold senate seats to agree with the policy before it will pass.
COMPLETELY unrelated side note.
It is amazing that a pretty average looking Abbot could produce 3 stunning daughters.

Yeah, how is that? I actually read the other day that evolution is producing more attractive women, generation after generation. Men aren't evolving to higher physical attractiveness because it's not being sexually selected (my fear is that sociopathy is being selected for, you can sort of see that).
Well, sounds like it's not all bad in the Antipodes; at least there's that. And I wish we had a system like that up here.
Fun fact: Of 535 voting members of the U.S. Congress, only two are independents in any sense of the word. And they both ally closely with the Democrats and are considered to be Dems for all intents and purposes.
