Islamophobic Trolling On Twitter Is Absolutely Rampant In Britain

Islamophobia is “rampant” on social media and affects even the tamest online debates when Muslims attempt to engage, new research has suggested.

The Birmingham City University report ‘Online Hate Against Muslims on Social Media' said the three most common phrases used to attack Twitter users were ‘Muslim paedos’, Muslim terrorists’ and ‘Muslim scum’.

The research analysed three hashtags – #Woolwich, #Muslim and #Islam. The majority of tweets (72%) were posted by males and over 75% of the tweets examined displayed a strong Islamophobic feeling. On September 11, 2013, the hashtag #FuckMuslims was trending, the research pointed out.

They are definitely extreme right and nasty with it, and anyone who can't see through them has the brains of an ant. Went to a concert with my friend last night, sat up afterwards talking, and she said, "who are these idiots that are so easily manipulated they can't see through Nigel Farage and the UKIP party? Do they have IQs, or is that just something on their wish list for christmas?" I fell about laughing!

Happy you are critical of Islam as am I, but this is the crutch of the matter, this faith just like the other two Abrahamic faiths are very much the same in regards to their beliefs on the deity, with punishments, commands, violence. Where there has been endless history showing where some people of literal beliefs in these faiths commit crimes and problems, trying to impose their views of that faith. The reality is Islam seems to be the only one out of the 3 that comes under criticism, based off the present day where there has been a rise in extremism.

The surge in UKIP support comes off the back of a recession, where people have always been more susceptible to fear arguments and thus seek to blame others, as the economy grows, and people are getting better off so will the support UKIP dwindle.

I never justify any terrorist action, what is shown is what leads to radicalisation and extremism, which is very different, nobody justifies the actions they take. I don't believe that England will split as you describe.Sure there'll be the usual huge & over the top media hype but after a while things will calm down because they will have to.

As for facade (I presume you mean Farage?),the advantage he has over Milliband is that too many of the public don't rate him as a future PM. Regarding Cameron,well too many of the public see him as a liar,a toff & untrustworthy (which is how I feel about him). And Glegg is irrelevant.

Farage is seen as a credible alternative to those three & who can blame people for thinking like that?

Farage is brilliant with oratory skills, but when placed on the spot when unprepared, he is very much clueless, as was seen when he got battered on the radio show. He is just a front man, neatly groomed to deliver the message of UKIP, he would never be good at actually making any policies, but is just a good PR man for the party
