'No Trojan Horse extremism links' Birmingham teachers hear
Birmingham City Council officials investigating an alleged plot by Muslim hardliners to take control of schools say they have seen no evidence of links to extremism, BBC News has learned.
But they have found "significant grievances" about governance and leadership, some on a large scale.
Officials were secretly recorded at a meeting with governors and teachers on Wednesday and a copy sent to the BBC.
Birmingham City Council did not comment as the investigation is ongoing.
Education watchdog Ofsted and the Department for Education are also looking into the claims.
More than 20 schools in Birmingham are being investigated after a letter, apparently sent to someone in Bradford, claimed a Muslim faction had sought to gain influence over schools and remove staff who were not sympathetic to its religious agenda

Well, well, well, so the excitable got excited about nothing, whipped up by the DM - again!
I wonder if the DM will retract. Probably not, and for years to come people will say 'do you remember when Muslims tried to take over Birmingham schools'

Actually Sassy it wasn't the Mail, they only published what the Telegraph had unearthed:
Teachers and governors in Birmingham have been told to expect a "firestorm" when Ofsted, the schools inspectorate, publishes the findings of its investigations into the alleged "Trojan Horse" plot
The disclosure comes after the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) said it had found “concerted efforts” to infiltrate at least six schools in Birmingham. Head teachers also warned that schools across Britain are likely to have been targeted.
The acknowledgement from the professional body followed a series of exposés by The Telegraph which disclosed how alleged plot had put schools under pressure illegally to segregate classrooms and change teaching to reflect radical Islamic beliefs. The statement was the first time a major teachers’ organisation had confirmed that such concerns exist. The alleged plot involves the alleged takeover of secular state schools and the removal of secular head teachers by radical Muslim staff and governors. Five non-Muslim heads have left their posts in a tiny area of the city over the past six months.

Wow. So all those teachers and Heads, and the 200 or more complainants, were all lying! Terrible.

Well, I'm sure the Telegraph will look into the refuting of it very carefully Tess. And the Council must realise that, so would not have said there is no evidence if there is.
