YA THINK????!!!!
An anti-gay televangelist has weighed in on the row surrounding the CEO of Firefox who resigned last week, to say if supporting Prop 8 was wrong, “then the Bible is full of hate.”
Brendan Eich resigned as CEO on Thursday, following outrage after it emerged he had donated $1000 (£600) to help pass California’s ‘Proposition 8′ same-sex marriage ban in 2008.
Now televangelist Pat Robertson, has said on his 700 Club programme, that if supporting marriage as between a man and a woman is “hate speech”, then “the Bible is full of hate”, and “God almighty is a hater.”
He said: “Here this man at Mozilla, Eich, had given $1,000 about six or seven years ago— $1,000 — to a proposition. And somebody came around and said, ‘Will you contribute?’ And he said, ‘Here’s a grand, get off my back.’ I mean, that’s probably all that it amounted to.

Re: U.S. televangelist: if supporting gay marriage is wrong, then 'the Bible is full of hate'
if they read their bible of course supporting gay marriage is wrong..
anyone can use their money however they wish to support any they wish, that is how it should be for everyone..
it's nothing to do with hate it has everything to do with God's set standards...

GIG, do you ever feel like Christianity expends too much energy on limiting the rights of gay people, and not enough energy on things like taking care of the poor or spreading peace (which Jesus commanded Christians to do)?

Oh look - another Christian-bashing thread.

I see it more as a hate-bashing thread than anything else. I've no doubt that if these people were raised in Saudi Arabia, they'd likely be gay-bashing Muslims, and if they were raised in China, they'd be gay-bashing atheists. If they were raised in Atlantis, they'd be gay-bashing Neptune-worshipers ... you see where I'm headed with this? ::D::

no never Christians put millions in to feeding the poor and helping...
i think gays should be more helpful to the poor and needy instead of thinking of their own agendas all the time...

Well, you're assuming gay people don't do that, which I think is false. But as far as the main message being put out by the Christian community as a whole -- with the exception of Pope Francis -- do you think the tone is a bit angry and intolerant, rather than forgiving, peace-loving and people-helping?
I'm not trying to antagonize you, this is a sincere perception shared by many people.

well you are wrong i know a couple personally who have a kitchen set up too feed the homeless a church we were involved in went around picking people up and dropping food off to needy people...
gays on the other hand never look past their next chance to make people say they are normal...
Jesus said spread the good news by the way not peace...

Not saying that Christians as individuals don't help people out, but I'm talking, again, about the overall tone of Christianity today. It seems we hear far more anger about homosexuality, abortion, etc. than we hear 'love thy enemy.'
And Jesus wasn't about spreading peace, huh?
Psalm 34:14
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Romans 14:17-19
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
Re: U.S. televangelist: if supporting gay marriage is wrong, then 'the Bible is full of hate'
nice biblical quotes but none are straight from Jesus, i think you were referring to his last command which was to go to all nations and spread the gospel, good news...
No Christians work round the globe to help feed people, save people etc..
as I said the gays just sit at home and whinge about being treat as normal...

Actually the Matthew one was from Jesus. Here's more context from Matthew 11:
25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Are you arguing that the parts of the Bible that aren't the direct quotes of Jesus aren't the word of God?

they are the word of God yes and Jesus is part of the triune God but they were not direct quotes from Jesus...
Peace or shalom means so much more than what we consider peace to be, you should check in to the meaning of the word...
love that scripture my yoke is easy my burden is light, beautiful..
but what he asks his followers to spread is the gospel, the good news unto salvation..

yes but Jesus was interested in salvation, the only way people can get saved is by preaching the gospel, the good news...
things can bless the believer, even the none believer but the number one thing for Jesus was for souls to be saved..

OK, then, riddle me this -- what are Jesus' own words on homosexuality?
Re: U.S. televangelist: if supporting gay marriage is wrong, then 'the Bible is full of hate'
Ben why do you want God Jesus to accept homosexuals ?
what is the reason when you don't believe anyway .

directly from his own mouth i don't think their are any at all, within God's word quite a bit...
the mission Jesus had was to be the payment for the sin of mankind, he has God's plan of redemption, we already had what god thought of gays...
