Just wanted to comment on these -- Sassy, is that the real you in your new avatar? Because whoever that is looks winningly vibrant Smile

Catman, I've enjoyed your past few new avatars -- particularly like the current one ...

As for me, I just noticed my new avatar is the first one who hasn't been wielding a gun in a while, I wonder what that says? Twisted Evil

Hi Ben, yep, that's me. I change my avatar all the time, it stops me getting bored because I can't post pics and can't go on threads that have a lot of youtube on or I crash. Tend to put it on when someone calls me an old bag Wink

There are at least 6 new cubs in that pride (difficult to count in a pile) - not out in the main bit yet but visible in a fenced section. There are 4 slightly older in the other pride. What we are really hoping for is tiger cubs - we have seen mating but do not know if it worked.

They are beautiful. Did you see that the zoo in Denmark that killed and cut up the giraffe to feed the lions has now killed two mother lions and their cubs?

Yes.

I know Longleat got some crap a few weeks back over supposedly putting animals down with no reason but that was press exaggeration (no surprises) A male lion was injured badly in a fight and a lioness started showing symptoms of a neurological disorder - they then tested her cubs who were about a year old who all tested positive so all were put down.

It is very difficult - everyone says they should control breeding but that can only be done to a certain extent - they have no way of telling if a lioness will have a single cub or 6. All I know is the standard of care of all the animals there is exemplary - the natural behaviors are a real joy.

However, that is not the case with the Zoo in Denmark. There was nothing wrong with the mothers or the cubs.

No its just a case that people round here are kind of pissed off at the press misinformation.

I mean I would say I would boycott the Denmark zoo but it would be an empty gesture as I am highly unlikely to be going to Denmark in the first place.
