We are £40 a week worse off under the Tories
Workers have been hit by a £40 a week pay cut since the Tory-led Coalition came to power.
Average earnings adjusted for inflation have dropped 7.2 per cent since 2010 – leaving millions more than £2,000 a year worse off.
It means working people are seeing their living standards squeezed harder every year, despite Chancellor George Osborne’s Budget boasts that we are better off.
TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said: “Across the UK, families are experiencing the biggest squeeze on their living standards in a century and are struggling to make their money go far enough.
“With real wages still falling for many, people are increasingly being forced to use their credit cards, their dwindling savings, or take out payday or doorstep loans if they need to buy anything beyond the most everyday of items.”

And that clown Osborne stands at the despatch box and tries to convince the nation that his plan is working.
Well, actually it is, isn't it? People are worse off.

£40 per week?
I think we should think ourselves lucky.
What about jobseekers?
What about two adults with two children, neither working?

The Tories don't care about the common man in the street or 'hard working families' as they claim. They have no empathy with ordinary people and their troubles, how could they? They are privately educated and have always considered themselves a 'cut above'
The amount of families having to resort to going to food banks to feed their children is what astounds and saddens me the most.
Cameron may use the media to attempt to manipulate us in believing that we are all better off but we only have to look around us to SEE that we are not so the Orwellian newscasts are not working. Wages are not increasing and the cost of childcare is soaring. The cost of everything is soaring. As a result the poundshop is flourishing in the Retail sector while so many other businesses are having to close as people can no longer afford moderate prices. They have no disposable income.
