Russia Bans Politicians In Obama Retaliation
Moscow retaliates to US sanctions by banning senator John McCain and House of Representatives speaker John Boehner from Russia.
US President Barack Obama has announced a series of fresh sanctions against Russia over its actions in Ukraine - prompting an immediate retaliation from Moscow.
In a speech on the White House lawn, Mr Obama said 20 individuals linked to the Russian government would be targeted for increased sanctions. A bank supporting those individuals will also be hit.
Among the senior Russian figures sanctioned by the US is Sergei Ivanov, one of President Vladimir Putin's closest associates.
Also being hit is Yuri Kovalchuk, who is considered to be Mr Putin's banker, and two life-long friends who have become multi-billionaires during his presidency.
Moscow immediately banned nine US officials and politicians from entering Russia in retaliation.
A list of banned individuals released by the Russian Foreign Ministry included Deputy National Security Adviser Benjamin Rhodes and senators John McCain, Harry Reid, Daniel Coats and Mary Landrieu. .........

But it's funny to see two leaders of our conservative wing -- the political group that generally thinks Putin is really hot stuff -- banned by Putin. :/pwn://:

Proving that Republicans hate Obama more than they hate Russia. Republicans have proven themselves to be unAmerican many times before. They are the dogs in the manger.
BTW, I like McCain's reply...Awww, there goes my vacation in Siberia.

Bwahahaha! Have to say, I've disagreed with him on so many things, but he's better than a lot of them and I like his style. ::D::

I have known McCain personally for some time. We both had boxes next to each other, in the same section of Sun Devil Stadium, during ASU games.
He and his gorgeous wife would show up with giant thermos bottles of vodka and gin martinis, and they would share drinks all around.
He is a nice guy, but so are they all up close. One friend suggested I should switch sides, since I was so close to McCain and he (then) was facing the presidential nomination. I declined, but I still accepted the martinis.
Haha...there but for fortune, I could be sitting on the Supreme Court (with an endless supply of martinis).

That's awesome! I'm not surprised to hear they're nice people in person; I know a lot of Republicans like that. Their problem is that they assume everyone's had the some opportunities as they have.

Ideologies are hidden under the surface. Social skills are a different matter.
McCain is a nice guy. Still, I wouldn't vote for him (and he knows it).
