What do you think happens to animals killed 'our' way Fluff.   They are stunned, or electrocuted, both of which have been shown not to work in many cases, sometimes the animal comes to, then it is hung up while the heart is still beating, and an artery in its neck is opened.   This has to be done while it's heart is still beating in order to expel the blood, which would taint the meat if left in.   Because they only open one artery, this takes longer than the halal way, when the jugular and two carotid arteries are opened at the same time.   In the halal way, it is approx 2-3 seconds before the brain stops registering anything, if the stunning is botched our way (and it happens frequently) it takes minutes for the brain to stop registering and even if the stunning has worked it has been shown that their brains are still registering pain.   Chickens are put in a water bath and electrocuted while alive.   Why does anyone think that it is possible to kill an animal for meat in a nice way?

There is a thread on it Stardesk, 200 out of nearly 2000 in areas that there is a call for it, not anywhere else.

Oh Victor, of course they will have thought of it, they don't want to lose customers.   And the checkout girl was backed because she had not been employed to work in the food section, she'd been employed to work in the clothes section.  It was M&S.

they should be happy to be so inconvenienced???....me I'd play merry hell...I havnt got time to be pratted about by ANYONE....its very simple....I go into a supermarket...i get the goods...i go pay...at the fastest check out (thank god for self service checkouts, when they work  ). I DO NOT expect to have to go round the loop twice because someone decides that they are going to make a stand over some ridiculous principle...)and it IS ridiculous..or else every other corner shop contains a bad Muslim.

They didn't have to go to another checkout, another girl came to their checkout.   You are making mountains out of molehills.
