Good on Pink, why should the women have to wear the incredibly tight and revealing bikini bottoms rather than the more comfortable shorts the men wear.
"US pop star Pink has offered to pay the fines handed out to the Norwegian women's beach handball team, after they wore shorts like their male counterparts instead of bikini bottoms.
The team was fined 1,500 euros (£1,295) for "improper clothing" at the European Beach Handball Championships last week.
"I'm very proud of the Norwegian female beach handball team for protesting sexist rules about their uniform," tweeted the singer on Sunday.
"Good on ya, ladies," she added.
"I'll be happy to pay your fines for you. Keep it up."

Re: Olympics.
GB has so far won THREE Gold medals.
Tom Daley, who first competing in Olympic diving when he was 14...has now won his first Gold medal with partner Matty Lee.
"A jubilant Tom Daley wept tears of joy today after winning his first ever Olympic Gold.
He finally added an Olympic title to his impressive collection today in another triumph for Team GB with diving partner Matty Lee.
The pair produced a stunning display to beat hot favourites China with a series of sensational dives in the 10m synchronised diving at the Tokyo 2020 Aquatic centre."

Re: Olympics.
It was unbelievable..
Amazingly Tom Daley is considered to be one of the older divers.
It seems like only yesterday he was the youngest.

That video is not available in my country.
And I haven't watched a minute of the Olympics.
Politics, wokeness and the like have put a bad taste in my mouth about this stuff anymore.
I feel bad for the vast majority of athletes who have worked so hard for something and are getting less recognition than athletes in the past.

He spends his entire career whining about ‘wokeness’ in nerd culture, so this is familiar ground I guess.

Mea culpa. As someone who has absolutely no interest in any sport other than Formula One motor racing- and that because of a close family connection - I have given up in despair of getting my daily fix of far more important world happenings from prime time news and current affairs programmes on BBC and now watch, and greatly enjoy, the new kid on the block, GBN.
This summer, for me at least, has been a turgid litany of football, cricket, tennis, snooker and athletics - now apparently including skate boarding, for God’s sake! How the hell they will take the obligatory knee while trying to balance on one of those infernal machines defeats me!
And what’s next? An Olympic class for electric scooter knock-down-a-pedestrian events?
And as for sports presenters! Bring back those of the calibre and character of Murray Walker (the voice of. Formula One who sadly died this year) David Coleman and Henry Blofeld. Today’s lot appear to have been hired on the now mandatory criteria of youth, looks and the great God diversity.
But entertaining, hilarious, un-PC, occasionally gaffe-prone and frequently histrionic real sports commentators? Forget it, the iron fist of the wokeness thought police would never permit it.

I loved the skateboarding! Far more exciting than the likes of show jumping and dressage!
The rest sounds like the nostalgic yearnings for yesteryear. I don’t doubt for a second that when I’m watching or listening to whoever is on the Telly in 2050 I’ll be making much the same sort of gripes about the new blood - and I expect in 2090 my nieces will be doing the same

Oh it is! Where on TV today could we possibly hear such brilliant lines as Murray’s “The car out in front is unique…except for the one behind it which is identical”? Or “…with half of the race gone, there is still half of the race to go…” Or “Andrea de Cesaris, the driver who has won more Grands Prix than anyone else without actually winning them…”?
Or such visual feasts as Tory politician John Nott angrily getting to his feet and stamping out of a live TV interview with the late, great Sir Robin Day — inconveniently forgetting to remove the microphone clipped firmly to his collar? I think it is called garrotting.
No, give me the old days and personalities of radio and TV rather than today’s culturally sanitised woke and obligatorily politically correct “talent” (to use the BBC’s description of choice for the grotesquely overpaid bunch of ninnies that sully our screens today.

It was started by Ariana Huffington.
Its definitely not stocked with Pulitzer Prize candidates..

Honestly, Ed, I have watched a lot of old shows (my dad would always have stuff on and still insists on showing it me when I visit sometimes, as if I’ll be converted one day lol) and little compares to modern stuff - especially comedy, most I think has been fantastic since the early 00s and continues to be. IMO, needing to be ‘un-PC’ to be funny, is a major limitation. Life is funny, and the best comedians use this to fantastic effect.
But it’s all subjective. It is not, however, a sign of modern tastes being ‘worse’. And even if that is what you believe, can you tell me an example of something hilarious that could be said in 1970, or an example of something modern personalities can’t say that is so utterly ruinous to their trade?

Of course it’s subjective, old chap, for the simple reason that this is a group where we can voice our own strongly held opinions freely….so long as it is done without personal abuse and malice.
So far as broadcasting and entertainment in general is concerned, I’m the first to admit that I much prefer my idea of “greats” - Tony Hancock, Kenneth Horne, Harry Secombe and the Goons on radio and Up Pompei, ‘Allo ‘Allo and It Ain’t ‘are ‘ot Mum on TV. Sexist? Racist? Homophobic? Yes, by today’s narrow and politically correct standards, they were. But they were genuinely funny and portrayed and received totally without malice, and fine performers such as gay Frankie Howard and Kenneth Williams, the delightfully voluptuous Dawn French and even the sad, troubled and emotionally messed up Tony Hancock laughed at themselves…and their audiences laughed with them…and loved them.
Now in my opinion - and it is my opinion - modern “entertainers” such as the scruffy, greasy Russell Brand and that vile, ghastly harridan Jo Brand, with their endless trendy Left wing preaching and pontification and smug holier-than-thou attitude to those who dare to disagree with them, are about as funny, entertaining and enjoyable as a prostate re-sectioning without the benefit of anaesthetic.

Haha, to be fair of your two examples, one is almost as known for his political takes as his comedy these days. But they are only two people and extreme cases (though I happen to find both very funny, though not nearly favourites of mine).
