The Mail and Boris Johnson
When the Mail turns on the Conservative leader and pulls the knives out of the draw, he really IS in trouble.

So many angles to attack him from.
Greensill.
Private PPE contracts.
Nurses pay.
Cummings trip to Barnard Castle
Lockdowns.
Cronyism and sleaze.
Flat refurbishment loan.
Bodies piling higher.
Starmer has been keeping his powder dry, but as we ease out of lockdowns, he needs to light the touchpaper and attack the corrupt, lying and malevolent PM.

Put it this way, neither Geordie Grieg at the Mail and Victoria Newton at Thd Sun are tremendous Boris fans. The Mail is now firmly against Boris, whilst Newton is fighting with Murdoch as she wants to swing against Boris, whilst Murdoch still owns him.

Re: The Mail and Boris Johnson
The Daily Mail’s long standing editorial policy is its proclaimed support for the Conservative and Unionist Party...but not necessarily support for the decisions and actions of a Conservative government. This is just the same as the Daily Mirror and Guardian’s support for the Labour Party but not necessarily for the decisions and actions of a Labour government.
Andy would like everyone to believe that the wicked Mail is a sort of lickspittle Volkischer Beobachter, but as ministers in every Tory administration have found out it can prove to be an awesome and implacable foe - as yesterday’s savaging of Johnson, defence ministers and top civil servants by former veterans’ minister Johnny Mercer has shown. (Mercer was fired for his long standing criticism of the abject failure of the Tory party’s election pledge to end the witch-hunting and prosecution of old soldiers who served during the IRA “troubles” decades ago.)

Re: The Mail and Boris Johnson
Greetings Fred, I trust and hope you are well.
Did you see Boris's abject performance at PMQ's today. Starmer is no fool at the dispatch box, and battered Johnson into a rambling furious rage, spitting his wrath at random targets.
He looks a beaten man, and faces a lot of pretty damaging allegations and enquiries.
This time,Teflon Boris might not survive.

Thanks, Andy. And yes, very well...apart from being somewhat grumpy because of a relentlessly aching shoulder.
Boris certainly has problems at present and if accusations of serious breaches of the strict Parliamentary rules are proved to be true, and that he has lied to MPs and the the country, then he’ll have to resign.
I didn’t see PMQs, but his previously impressive performance has certainly deteriorated...probably the result of long covid. I think we have yet to hear the truth about how close to death he was when he caught covid early in the pandemic.
Starmer is a clever man, and I recall posting when he replaced that unelectable fool Corbyn and his coterie of far Left maniacs including the dreadful Diane Abbott (to think that the policing and security of this country could so easily have been in that woman’s hands!!!) that Labour had at last produced a leader who might be up to and worthy of the job of PM.
But the fact is that he simply does not display the charisma or infectious enthusiasm that Boris showed on succeeding the capable but dull-as-ditchwater May. Current opinion polling, I gather, show Labour trailing miserably, though this is probably the result of the undoubted success of the vaccination programme for which Boris really does deserve our plaudits.

Fred, hope the shoulder gets better. Cd it be arthritis or bursitis? With your heart, look out for angina. You've got the same thing I have got, and the doctors are always telling me look after it.

An old girlfriend of mine once told me she had acute angina.
I told her I preferred her breasts.
