Word Perfect
When someone is this perfect at communicating his inner thoughts, you want to reach out across cyberpace and hug him. Perfection personified.
The president told the mob ''I know how you feel'' and he does.
He knows how they feel because he spent 4 years telling them in great and odious detail how they SHOULD feel.
The president wanted this, directed it, supported it, incited it, and encouraged it.
etc
6 minute vid but you can skip the intro.

AS for Chris Commo, when a laid-back, unflappable newscaster flips his lid like this, you sit up & take notice. Passionate speech!

Oh and you'd think having a $1.2Billion slush fund for an election campaign for this family to spend it how they like, would be enough, won't you.
Wrong. There are plenty more donations flowing into the GOP/PAC to for a FRESH fight against ... um ... the "unfair" election result. Some of the donations are just $5 or $10, apparently. IE some ordinary, poor folk are sending in money they can ill afford.
Shameless for him to keep deluding his groupies like this. He has already shamelessly thrown everyone under a bus. Including Mike Pence, the loayl'servant' who never left his side in 4 years.
Thanks for listening. BBL.

You don't know much about Cuomo
Things escalate from there. After one of the men sarcastically tells Cuomo that “you’re a much more reasonable guy in person than you seem to be on television,” Cuomo threatens him by saying, “you’re going to have a big fucking problem ... don’t insult me like that ... you know my name’s not Fredo. ... I’ll fucking throw you down these stairs like a fucking punk.”
The video was posted on Twitter by Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire, who credited the footage to right-wing personality/YouTube host Brandon Recor.
The clip ends with Cuomo and the men being separated. As they’re pulled apart, one of the men involved in the confrontation can be heard telling Cuomo, “Hey, look at all these cameras. You’re in for it. You’re in for it.”

Biden reminds me of a moth, one swat and he would literally turn to dust! He’s almost see-through.
And where is that man’s passion? He’s so utterly boring when he speaks!

Re: Word Perfect
Trump is beyond belief, really -- the ultimate narcissist. He simply can't accept a world that doesn't revolve around him and how supposedly great he is. And he's so unprepared to hear criticism that he reverts to childhood when criticised -- tantrums, taunts, insults, and demanding that people either rush to his defense or face the consequences.
He also seems to share a trait I've seen in many other right-wingers in America -- they appear to believe that they can change reality if they deny it fervently enough. Thus, Covid-19 was just going to "disappear," particularly after the election ...
Another reason I should confess for intensely disliking Trump is that, where I find it difficult at times to feel confident about things I know I can do, he has no difficulty in feeling confident that he can do something he obviously has no clue about. That mix of ignorance and arrogance, that faith that he will be excellent at a job he clearly doesn't have even the most basic understanding of, is grating.
The damage he's done to America is incalculable.

Cuomo is a hot-blooded Italian...and a New Yorker to boot...that's for sure. I liked him when he was host of Good Morning America, on ABC.
I've started looking in on CNN lately, and been watching him and Anderson.

He's very old and has diminished mental abilities. He's trying to speak without looking like he has dementia, which he most likely does. He's not boring when he just shoots the shit, but then he sounds crazy, looses his train if thought and then goes off on crazy tangents. Joe's been around DC for 50 years. He's always been an animated and outgoing. It's just now he's forcing himself to try to do something out of character to look more presidential and less scatterbrained.

My hope is that the old Joe Biden is still in there somewhere. When he was Obama's vice president, he was the guy who could be counted on to stick his foot in his mouth one minute and get out of it a minute later through sheer charm.
I don't know if it's because he's older now, or if it's because he's trying to project an image of someone who is inflappable and serious, in contrast to Trump, but I remember Joe Biden as something completely the opposite of a passionless moth.
And I'm not just saying that because I like Biden, or because I don't like Trump.

Add to that, another trait that should be good, but on him it's bad: he has a short memory. They say in sports that's a good thing, but on him, he can give a speech to insurrectionists in the morning, saying I lov you, and in the afternoon tell them they are "enemies of the state".

He was great in that debate in 2012. Took Paul Ryan apart. Like...he's got stuff. And he was into gay marriage even before Obama was...wasn't scared to say so.

What is the alternative to a boring president?
You want a more exciting one?
Haven't the last 4 years given the Americans enough excitement to last a lifetime? What a ride!!
It takes some doing for the greatest superpower on earth to be turned into a laughing stock especially when the likes of Russia, Venezuela, HongKong/China - and even .... daresay, quite a few so called 'banana republics' and 'shithole countries' are the ones doing the laughing.
This is my ''video thread'' where I post a few clips that have impressed me. I wanna share!
I will post a maximum of 6 vids in this thread (hope that's not too much). Then I will go chat on some
other threads.

On the scale of video clips that have not aged well, this one must be up there in the stratosphere. You'd be hard pushed to find anything that even comes close.
The vile woman on the cover of the vid, (she's dating Trump jr the father of FIVE small kids) - was the very one seen dancing & gyrating while watching the carnage at capitol on those giant screens, she was cheering on the rioters with the words ''fight, fight'' in the dying seconds of that viral tweet.
The youtube vid shown above shows that all the people bitterly complaining in 2016 that the ''democrats are sore losers'' (just because Hillary waited all of ONE day ..... yes .... a whole day - before she formally conceded defeat to Trump in 2016) ..... these are the very people now screeching how unfair the 2020 election results have been, and still refusing to concede, ten weeks on.
Yes that big bad Hillary made the poor lil darlings wait a whole day before she conceded defeat.
Oh wait......

That's true.
See, we here in England do not necessarily get to know about the outside activities of these newscasters, or their social life. We only see the professional side of them, their conduct and demeanor in the tv studio as they read the news and interview people. I was referring to his professionalism.

Biden is perceived as 'boring' by some, but he has a huge wealth of experience culminating in 8 years at the highest level as VP.eddie wrote:

Being 'boring' isn't always a bad thing, it depends very much on the context.
Case in point: The Dems tried for years to make political inroads in Georgia which is a very conservative enclave of the US deep south and they predictably failed. They offered up high profile 'glamour' candidates and they got nowhere.
Finally they offered two very ordinary 'BORING' people Warnock and Ossoff - and bingo they had historic wins - even though they were both minority candidates .... and in America's the deep south too.
Food for thought!
Goodnight.

Re: Word Perfect
I actually agree with a lot of what Jules said. We as the voters and the governed need to get past whether a candidate is exciting to watch on TV and be a bit more mature -- we need to think seriously about how politicians' stated intentions would affect us and our fellow citizens, and whether we agree with the values they state.
Donald Trump won the presidency (despite losing the popular vote by millions) in 2016 largely because people knew him from TV. That's a fucking piss-poor reason to give someone the power to start a war or decide how much tax people should pay.
We own our countries and we should start acting a lot more like owners and a lot less like an audience.
If our political leaders act as the "parents" of our countries, we've been selecting the parents who promise to give us chocolate and entertain us for far too long. We as grownups should know better what makes a good leader.

OK, since you have now TWICE mentioned that you don't understand why I mentioned about the maximum number of youtube vids that I will be posting in this thread, let me explain.
I simply wanted to give the reassurance that I won't turn this into a Lurker- type of thread where endless videos and memes are posted, that's all. (Not that I'm criticising Lurker's meme & cartoon threads - in fact I enjoyed them. BUT I wanted to reassure people that this will not be that type of thread hence why I said '6 vids max')
''Left'' ain't a dirty word, eddie. It wasn't a bunch of lefty's that made history by smashing their way into the sacred inner sanctum of the Capitol and causing 5 deaths, it was a bunch of violent righty's.

That building ain't sacred and the people that work there are no more special than someone working at McDonald's.
I don't support the cause behind the riot, but I'm not clutching pearls over those folks at the cathedral of criminals experiencing a no knock raid. I hope they were scared shitless.

I perceive the building as sacred and that is exactly how I'm going to describe it.
I've also seen senior journalists and political commentators with decades of experience calling it ''sacred / sacrosanct/ the citadel of democracy'' etc. So I know I'm not wrong.
It's not just the building itself, it's the fact the most powerful people in the most powerful superpower in the world, were sitting in it, making one of the most important historical decisions that would affect the entire country - and by extension the world at large. Hence why it's so securely guarded.
Let's not equate this unforgettable terrorist atrocity to a minor incident like, eg a group of drunks gatecrashing a drinking bar on a random saturday night.
The world was watching. And gasping with shock!

Ironically this very thread is about people who take hero worship to extremes. Trump fanatics are literally offscale.
I do have admiration for tough gritty people who fight and win against impossible odds though. Not hero worship,
.... just admiration. And not just politicians, I also admire anyone who wins big battles - be it environment lobbyists, academics, sportsmen, etc.
You said politicians are no more important than Macdonald staff - but burger flippers do not get to make decisions about waging foreign wars, managing multibillion dollar national budgets, health care, etc. Elected politicians do !
You are a Libertarian so you prefer small/minimal govt. I respect your stance. But others have a different stance.

Red doesn't respect "small/minimal" government. He wants the lawlessness that comes after government is hobbled.

Maddog saying he hoped the ''criminals were scared shitless'' was a bit harsh! Staff hid in closets for hours, waiting to be rescued. I'm sure some will need counselling!
Hells bells, the guy who sent those thugs in, to ''scare them shitless'' is more CORRUPT than the entire govt plus the opposition, combined. The Donald = Don Corleone. Durr.

Save the best vid till last.
Michael Moore, Michigan's finest, investigator, acclaimed movie director and best selling author - spills the beans.
He said several 'sources' and politicians contacted him with info, after the attempted coup on Capitol Hill.
He is now convinced that the riot at capitol was an 'inside job', but includes a disclaimer!
A one hour audience with this great man is equivalent to a one year university education.
(I ran it on double speed - lasted 30 minutes.)

All southerners are criminals. Since the demise of slavery, they have simply gone underground. White supremacy was the driving force behind this insurrection, as well as the Jim Crow laws and tactics and practices the very day after the end of the civil war. It is the southern zeitgeist. We are two countries!
I can think of no better argument for Amexit. We aren't going to reform or reeducate these people. What does anyone think will happen? Will they all come to prayer meetings, hold hands and sing kum-ba-yah?
This is going to go on—and on—and on—until we excise them.

Amexit? Like sedition?
And Trump is a fucking Yankee while Stacy Abrams is a southerner.

Amexit is a movement for the peaceful detachment of the southern states, because: 1) the drag they put on the resources of the rest of the US; and 2) the south's irretrievable racism. It's very much like the peaceful referendum that was put to Scotland, for dissolution. It has nothing to do with sedition.
TY for providing the opportunity to explain that.

Both are right-thinking southerners, who have never bought into the southern zeitgeist of racism and bigotry.
I would hope all such people will move north and west, and join believers in truth and justice for all peoples, not just whites.

Yeah.....but who made a point about her “maximum” quota of videos? Which was pretty much my main point regarding her post.
The rest was just smoke up arses of the “left”
I never said “left” was a dirty word, what gives you the impression I ever said or thought that? You made that up, Jules.
I do however, dislike the rabid hatred each side gives the other, almost like one side is wholly better than the other. I don’t take sides, I find that helps when it comes to making objective opinions. Also, of course, one shouldn’t generalise about everyone in the opposite camp. That’s just ignorant and dangerous.

Funnily enough Trump also said similar - 2 years ago he said that he did not take sides either ..... cos .... "there are fine people, very fine people on BOTH sides". Immortal words that will never be forgotten.
Btw "dangerous" seems to be your favourite word, eddie.
Which is very apt in this thread cos it's about the most scarily dangerous human on the planet - bar NONE.
I would like to reply to your post, if that's ok. Do you want to hear the reply?

It was NOT me who raised the subject of LW vs RW.
