Re: Time to start stretching necks???
I hope they catch this vile scumbag
The company should be also investigated over the symptoms and bringing back to work
However, imagine a group of people that know family have this virus.
Imagine there are terrorists
That they bide their time and seek to work in high risk places
That they are young and fit and have no care for their own lives
That they would be suicide bombers if given the chance
Now imagine them as infected, going deliberately into crowded places like supermarkets. Deliberately coughing and sitting on people.
This would be a different ballpark game.
Its not a case of an imminent life threatening situation, Its one that could potentially cause a loss of life.
Risk values
How do we combat this with those who seek to weaponize this?
Its not a person holding a knife or gun, but now their breathing, coughing and sneezing could be a potential weapon. To infect others
Sorry I deal in minimising risk, as a living and it worries me we are missing this . In that sooner or later this will happen by extremists
I hope I am wrong, but its my job to factor in all possibilities

Disgusting ...the evil pig who spat on the lady and her colleague and their employers who seemingly did nothing to protect the women.

A mother working as a ticket collector has died with COVID-19 after being spat at by someone claiming to have the illness.
Belly Mujinga's family have spoken to Sky News after her death sparked a new row over the safety of key workers, personal protective equipment (PPE), and protecting employees with underlying health problems.
On 22 March, the 47-year-old was working with a colleague on the concourse at Victoria Station in London, when a member of the public claiming to have the coronavirus assaulted both of them.
Belly's cousin, Agnes Ntumba, told Sky News: "They went out and they met a person who said, 'why are you here?'
"And they said, 'we're working.'
"Then the person said, 'I've got COVID' - and straight away he spat at them."
According to the family, Belly and her colleague made clear they were scared for their lives and asked not to be sent back out and to instead work from inside the ticket office.
But they were told that people were needed to work outside and were sent back for the rest of their shift.
Despite the pair saying they asked their employer to call the police, British Transport Police (BTP) told Sky News they could find no record of it.
However, the BTP say they are now investigating.

Re: Time to start stretching necks???
If this incident really happened and was reported to management as claimed, then it would have been recorded as an incident and investigated already...
Any attack on staff is treated very seriously!

The management didn't sound very sympathetic at the time, maybe they were negligent in recording the incident.
BTP have no record of the assault either, so it seems they (management) didn't take the womens complaint as seriously as they should have.

Thank you, Syl, for providing the article. It certainly shows disgusting behavior.
@Tommy: 'Management' is human, too. They make mistakes. Apparently, the police can find no record of the report.
In America--and I would assume in Britain too--spitting is a full-on assault, and it can be aggravated assault if done with consciousness and intent of the assailant carrying a transmittable disease.
This previously lessor-known fact is now widely understood since the advent of HIV. Meth-users, which are most apt to contract HIV because of their dirty, communal lifestyle, have actually weaponized the act of spitting in this way. It'll get you 10-15 years over here.

Re: Time to start stretching necks???
Also from the article....
Lawyers say it is highly unlikely that someone who spits on someone would be charged with anything other than the relatively minor offence of battery, even if the victim person subsequently became seriously ill or died as a result of COVID-19.
Dr Geoff Pearson, senior lecturer in criminal law at the University of Manchester, said: "The reason for this is that the prosecution would have to prove (to a standard that the jury are sure, or 'beyond reasonable doubt') the element of causation - i.e. that it was that saliva that caused the infection that led to the serious illness or death."
"If you could prove the causation element of the offence, then technically, in a situation where an individual suspects they could have COVID-19 and spits on another who then dies as a result of the infection, this could be manslaughter."

Re: Time to start stretching necks???
It's a probability argument, to be sure. But the shorter the time between cause and effect, the greater the probability. Other factors come into play: eg, the similarity of the strain of the virus increases probabilities.
It's really no different from other projectile causes of death. Was it this bullet that killed the victim? If there are no other factors, the probability is that it was.

Or maybe there was never any incident and/or complaint... as is claimed in the article...?
As I said before... It is normal practice for any reports of any incidents like that, to be taken very seriously and to be logged/reported and fully investigated...!
If this did happen and management failed to pursue it in the normal way... Then they will be for the high jump... And rightly so...!
The BTP will be able to find out whats what... And if there was a scumbag spitter who was responsible then I'm sure they will easily be able to get a clear picture and ID of them, and hopefully result in proper punishment...
