First topic message reminder :
He suggested that licenced holders should be allowed to have handguns again.
What do you think of the idea?

Real men don't need a gun to impress the ladies, who I think are more impressed by the guys mind first, his decency second then what's in his pants and how he uses it.
Not by blokes shouting " I've got a big weapon and I'm not afraid to use it".
The Penis analogy is not about impressing women. It's competitive in it's own right.
As Dylann Roof said while shooting black parishioners in Charleston, South Carolina, "You rape our women and are taking over our nation." It needs no outside reference to pleasure or superior performance. It's a mano-y-mano comparison of who has the inferior organ. It's more about loss of power and ineffectiveness. The firearm compensates for feeling inadequate.

But I don't get horrified at much.
We have had insane runs on ammo, not just toilet paper.
Probably be some good deals on guns in a few weeks if the economy keeps tanking. While some will want to hold on to all of them, many will want to unload a few to pay some bills.
Drove out to the country a few weeks ago to ride my bike. Saw a guy selling a few shotguns along side the road. That would horrify the hoplophobes.
You and I will never see eye to eye on this issue it that’s ok.
Probably not.
Try not worrying about what other people have and do. Its liberating.

He was 1 of the far right gang that made me retire from here , better things to spend my time doing than read lunatic rants s from him and his ilk.
You and Brutus would make a cute couple.

Are you so threatened by women that you cant see them wanting to use firearms?
My daughters are all very proficient with firearms and live in homes with quite a few.
They are not insecure about their penises.

"Guns are Penis substitutes" Says a man who hasn't got one, [Gun or Penis]. After 24 years in the Army I can't say I noticed !

They have other insecurities, and are willing followers. Even Trump has some female supporters, despite his profound misogynism.

Re: did anyone see Nigel farage's hand gun idea?
Have to say, I surprise some people since I'm a lefty who has owned guns (sold my last one because I needed the cash) and I support responsible gun ownership. I think there are plenty of other lefties like me, but whatever.
There is something pretty cool about taking your gun down to the range and putting holes in paper. It's a frisson that few non-sexual situations can match
My problem is with people who seem obsessed with guns, but at the same time, I have a problem with people who seem obsessed with most things.

Guns are for idiots, police, or people who hunt for food.
That is all.

what about target shooters...
whilst i DO shoot for the pot....I expend far more rounds on the clay range....
(in the order of 200-400) on an average trip to the range)

I completely understand people's fear of firearms but they are a tool and a tool that requires skill and maturity.

That is far better than listening to you drone on against every topic that goes against alt right wing, Conservative and Repubican principles.
No worries andy, but stop hiding behind a different persona
There is nothing sick with people having guns for sport and hunting
You were the one that insulted a number of posters here and claimed they were insecure simple for owning guns
It has nothing to do with any politics here in that regard
So when you apologise to the posters that do own guns, who have never murdered anyone or killed people whilst owning their guns. You may come to understand how and why you are the twat here
No need to call Brutus Andy, right? Just address what he has to say about Farage's handgun proposal and leave the accusations out of it.
Please don't think that myself and the other moderators don't know everything that goes on in this place

I have guns, my daughters have guns, their husbands have guns, pretty much everyone I know has guns.
I don't know if that makes us all idiots.

Correct.
It’s been horrifying here that gun shops are considered an essential business and are now allowing “drive thru” options. In some cases they haven’t even RELAXED some of the regulations. Add that to how much ammunition has been purchased since the rise of COVID-19 and the statements made by local zealots on Facebook groups about being happy it is “hunting” season as a euphemism for shooting people is insanely scary. That’s the reality of living here.
Arizona is the highest gun ownership per capita of any state in the union. It's no surprise that, if gun-buying is high, it would be high in Arizona. But I don't get the connection between closures and firearm acquisition. Are they planning bank robberies, or suicides?

No they’re just getting their jollies. They think the shutdowns and stay at home orders are against their constitutional rights so they want to start a revolution or prepare for the apocalypse and shoot all the dems, who apparently don’t have jobs and will be breaking into people’s homes for food and toilet paper. More are talking about using those stimulus checks to buy more not realizing that they’ll be utilizing socialism. Oh the irony!
I wish I was making this crap up, but I’m truly not.
