I am petrified of spiders, I flee the room when I see one and bow down to the power they have over me. I always ask my OH to see if he can catch them and put them our rather than kill them.
Yes I do kill flies if they are in the house mainly because they can spread disease around. I swat them quickly, I dont pull their legs off to gleefully watch them die a slow death though....thats the difference.
There is no difference. As you take a satisfaction in killing them, knowing they mnake you feel at ease
I dont think anyone here takes pleasure in a slow death

I read this forum last night when Didge was getting very personal about Ben and Eddie. I found it a very uncomfortable read.
He is preying on what he considers to be peoples archilles heel, throwing something personal into the debate, then trying to turn it back on them when they react.
It's a particular nasty kind of trolling, and it is imo spoiling the forum for some people.
I am beginning to think he is kept around because he starts so many threads, but putting up with his all too frequent outbursts (and yesterday he was on one for many hours) is a high price to pay just to see lots of new threads on the forum.

Didge, you do show some traits, perhaps you don't realise or then again its all show to big yourself up.
Someone who has experience with such things can at least recognise the behaviour they don't need to be qualified. Many people have psychopathic traits so you wouldn't be alone, many people aren't really affected by them, others are of course some just end up being annoying to other people.
You turn the charm on and off - or what passes for charm anyway.
You seem to have a habit of trying to be the best at everything - including 'debating'
You always have to have the last word.
You apparently care little what people think of your actions and do what you want when you want (sex on the bus and statements made regarding this type of thing)
You speak like you are god's gift and get nasty when others don't agree with you.
You also seem to crave attention - so many threads become all about Didge threads.

Yes i said some poor views
What about what was said in regards to me
You see, there is always two dides to everything and why I appreciate your opinion, its clearly one sided
I said nopthing wrong Rags today or yesterday and was called a psychopath.
Do you think that is nice or fair.
I am not kept around by anyone and they could get shot of me anytime. To claim there is a reason i am kept, with a view like i am a pet is again insulting
So now that is two posters seeking to have shot of me and yet cannot be open enough to say so
And they claim i am vile and yet still come back here to bitch and moan about me
Hilarious

So is many valid points there and also some wrong ones
You are one of the few people i do value your views to Vintage
You try to be fair
I dont have a habbit to be best at everything, though did grow up with this mentality in my family and its one thing i actually hate
I had a view instilled in me to be better and achieve more than my siblings. I hated that and hated i was pushed into playing the violin, viola, and piano. The joke was, I actually was good at playing them, but hated that i was pushed into this
I always care what people think. What I was annoyed about last night, is how Eddie cared very little for what myself and eilzel said and as if it did not matter. So on that front you are wrong
I have never craved attention and really dont care whether you or anyone else likes me. I have many friends in the real world. Hence being her, is nothing more than to let off steam

Its not about being liked by those on here but a bit of civility
goes a long way, people listen more - obviously with aggressive and abusive posts people tend not to listen to what you say but how you say it, then there's no progress.
As for the thread subject I definitely agree with the majority, there's a difference in having to kill something or even someone and not taking satisfaction from it and in a thrill in seeing something killed or finding it amusing, for me there is something radically wrong with someone who does so. Surely its a mark of progress in the human psyche to have consideration and empathy for others and even other species, if not we'd still be killing each other for the slightest thing, although some people actually still do of course but we tend to think of them as less developed culturally.

Sorry Vintage, but does not civility work both ways?
Plenty of nasty things were sad about me last night and today. Even you have insinuated a view to me being a psychopath.
So why are you not applying the same reasoning to others
You are of course correct about civility, but I really dislike is the dishonesty in people when they single out someone
I have always had plenty of empathy for you and asked with care in how you went through a rather rough time with your conditions,. as you well know. Its the one time, when I am not a cock and you know this to be true.
Like i said, to me, Eddie has changed
Again, I am the biggest supporter of Ben and eddie being together, but I will pull them up, when at times they are biased or to me, being cocks themselves.
We are all stubborn in this regard
Anyway, of course I take on your views and at least you have been civil about this
Thank you

Also Vinateg, an appeal to the people is a fallacy argument
It does not matter what others think, but only reasoned views here
Sorry
Look, I care very much about life, but I am not a liar and know I would laugh at some mishaps that happen to people and animals
To me, I see the gull, as a pest and why I have little sympathy
Just as mush c as people with a fear of spiers, would less care when one is trodden on
I am simple just being honest here. As in the mian I do care for animals, but cannot lay claim to being true on this when i eat meat

Yes, I am cavalier about killing bugs. But recently, a fly got into my study...usually don't get into the house.
I sprayed it dead. But then I got it in my mind that it was my deceased wife, come back to visit in some reincarnated state. For days I felt terrible.
Now I do everything to simply get them out, without killing them.

Seriously Quill, or are you kidding me?
If I can get a fly out rather than kill it I definitely will...sometimes though, when food is being prepared and the little bugger wont go, I get the swat out.

I don't kill flies. They're quite often obedient and go out by themselves. If not, I catch them in a glass and put them out. There's a knack to it.

Odd how these thoughts can come and go Quill. I bet we all have them sometimes, and if it makes us think twice about killing any living creature it's served a purpose.

I can't stand flies. They last about 2 minutes in my house. I'm not having them paddling in dog shit, then vomiting on my food and doing other unspeakable things. I give them a chance. I say...You have two seconds to buzz off or you're fucked. They're usually fucked.

Everyone must kill something sometimes, slugs in the garden, flies in the kitchen, rats (if anyone is unfortunate enough to get one of those in the house and I have.... what a drama)
But killing something for the sake of your own and your families health, and enjoying seeing something suffer, is poles apart.
People who feel excitement at any living creatures suffering has an element of the psychopath about them imo.

I'm certain that "DRUNK" holds the record for the highest number of synonyms. A comedian once said that if you put almost any naughty word in the past tense, it counts as a description of drunkenness.
…. ….. "pissed, w*nkered, hammered, sh*tfaced, bladdered, blootered" or you can invent some new ones …
.... I think he was right.
