Harrowing moment disabled grandfather was left to die in the street after he was knocked out with a single punch and told 'You deserved that' in petty takeaway row with a teenager
Disturbing CCTV images show a disabled man as he lays dying in the street after he was knocked out with a single punch in a petty row outside a takeaway. Keith Maden, 59, was viciously attacked after trying to enter a chicken shop only to find the entrance blocked by student Jafar Ali, 19, and a friend. During a heated exchange, Mr Maden suggested Ali move out of the way, only for Ali to respond: 'Why should I f*** off? No, you f*** off, I'll stand here if I want.'
The grandfather told Ali he had 'an attitude problem' and was punched in the face by the teenager, who told him 'you deserved that' before fleeing the scene. Harrowing CCTV shows passersby tending to Mr Maden, who was disabled following a stroke, outside Dixy's Chicken takeaway in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
He never regained consciousness and died in hospital the next day of catastrophic head injuries including a bleed on the brain and fractured skull. The tragedy led to the victim's 86-year old mother, with whom he lived, having to leave their home where she had been for 42 years.
In a statement she said: 'We had to rely on each other - the last years of my life have been marred by the unnecessary taking of his life.'
Today at Minshull Crown Court in Manchester, Ali wept as he was locked up for four-and-a-half years having been found guilty of manslaughter.

Its a joke, four and a half years, that should have been for his attitude, then another 15 for manslaughter.

I'v come to the conclusion, after seeing some of the sentences handed out, that the British justice system is NOT FIT FOR SERVICE !

The man who was standing in the way looks like a different man to the one who hit Mr Maden.

Pathetic sentence.
It looks like the yob surrounded by his mates was just looking for trouble. Were he not he wouldn't have blocked the entrance when Mr Maden wanted to enter.
The judge sounds like an idiot.....victim blaming seems to be very popular in British courts.
"Sentencing Judge John Potter told Ali: 'I accept Mr Maden was at the very least argumentative and aggressive in his demeanour but the evidence suggests at some point threats were exchanged between you.
'I accept Mr Maden may have said something which you understandably saw as highly offensive and then Mr Maden pushed you in the chest causing you to step back a short step."

That was a clear case of murder...
Why should that killer be rewarded with only 4 and a half years ?
He should have got at least 20 years..
(Poor sentencing isn't unique to Britain, either -- every few months down here, people are only getting 4 --> 5 years for crimes that should be worth 15 to 25 years or more..).
