Parents threaten to keep their children home from school after headmaster introduces unisex toilets at his secondary academy
First topic message reminder :
A headmaster has sparked fury after introducing 'unisex' toilets for pupils at his secondary school.
Dominic McKeon had the row of standalone toilets built in the run up to the new school year so boys and girls at the Little Lever School in Bolton, Greater Manchester, could use them together during their lunch break.
But parents were furious after only learning of the move when their children returned to classes following the summer holidays.
Several vowed to keep the youngsters off lessons in protest whilst a campaign against the unisex toilets started on Facebook.
Today, Mr McKeon, who was appointed to the school a year after it converted to Academy status in 2016, posted pictures of the new toilets insisting each cubicle has 'male' and 'female' signs in a bid to appease parents.

I told you, halls and girl's bathrooms are corroborating evidence. Suspected crimes, world-wide? Probably in the millions. Over what period of time?

So, you've been lurking around these halls and bathrooms, have you, gathering 'evidence'?

I don't like the idea of unisex loos , but I must admit I would welcome them on occasions when the ladies has a huge queue and the men are just waltzing in and out of theirs .
I am full time carer for my mum so we have a key to disabled toilets which does help because sometimes its ridiculous the queues for the ladies .

The reason mens toilets are quicker is because we have urinals... something that the 'unisex toilets won't have... so all you will end up with is everyone queuing up...

It's more than that. A toilet is as quick as a urinal. If you're just going in there to pee, hiking up a skirt or pulling down slacks is not that time-consuming. It's that women often use the restroom as a grooming salon.
With guys, there's no lipstick, rouge, powder or touchy hair style in the first place. It's just push open door, walk to urinal, unzip, pee, zip, walk to sink, wash hands, walk to door and exit. If the women did that there'd be no lines.

So again no evidence
I guess you come from the school of Dr Ford
Horatio asked you a specific point and you sly away from this
Do you have evidence of women doing this to men in cubicles?

Women don't normally do that in the cubicles, they do that by the basins where the mirrors are...
Which begs the question... WTF are they actually doing in the cubicles if they only need to sit and have a quick pee...???

Well, the younger ones might also have some ladies' matters to attend to in the stall, but in general the time in the cubicles is very short. It's all the primping and styling they do before the mirror that leaves everyone else outside, waiting in the queue.

That may explain single occupancy toilet rooms... but here we have large multi user rooms where the basins and mirrors are, and a line of actual toilet cubicles in there too... so should be a quick in & out of the actual toilet cubicles and then they can take as long as they like in front of the mirrors... why the queue for the cubicles...???
Maybe some of the ladies here could explain why they always have to take so long faffing around at everything they do...???

It's pretty much the same here. The line down the hall is because they literally cannot enter the large multi user room...it's too packed, and there's so much primping and preening going on.

Oh really...!?
I think the queues here are to get into the actual cubicles... not cos the basin/mirror area is packed...
Again... maybe the forum ladies might explain what's going on here...?

That doesnt explain away queues in communal ladies toilets. In the vast majority the toilet is separated from the wash basins and mirrored areas....thats where women do all the girly stuff, not in the actual toilet cubicle.Original Quill wrote:Tommy Monk wrote:

Well, you know better than I do. But isn't it the same outside door for both? The common room, with the sink and mirrors, is a part of where the cubicles are, no?
It the US that's the case. So, all the crowding around the sink and mirrors, creates the queue out the door and down the hall.

Not really, the queue is always for the toilet cubicles not the sinks or mirrors....women cluttering round the mirrors dont prevent the actual toilets being used.Original Quill wrote:Syl wrote:

One reason for queue's could be that most women take their little ones to the toilets, I took my son and grandson, they were never taken into the gents with my OH, always into the ladies with me....and young kids are a lot slower than women.
Plus women often have more personal stuff to do when they use the loo....if all a man has to do is unzip and pee, no wonder he is a lot quicker than a woman.

Re: Parents threaten to keep their children home from school after headmaster introduces unisex toilets at his secondary academy
Just had another thought... sometimes here the gents gets a bit busy too and there's a little queue... as there are fellas already using all urinals as well as nipping in and out the cubicles for a quick stand up piss (not even closing the doors, just in & out quick) then a quick wash of hands and straight out etc...
But what I have noticed when this happens is that all us blokes try to move a bit quicker and have our piss as quick as possible and get out the way, cos we know there are others busting to go too... showing a clear level of consideration for those waiting behind us...
We even have a little unsaid collective understanding going on when this is happening, sharing an occasional light hearted comment/joke and/or a knowing smile and nod between us...
Now... My question is... do women care that others are waiting behind them, and try to speed it up a bit too???
Or do they think that they have waited long enough to get their turn that they are gonna make the most of it, and not care that others are waiting...?
But the question still remains... wtf are they doing in there that takes so long...!!!???

The smell of urine is often quite overpowering when one passes a gents communal loo, maybe instead of passing light hearted comments and agreeable nods to each other you should concentrate more at where you are actually aiming....just a thought.Tommy Monk wrote:

Gd point, that.

Women's clothes have zippers too. Unzip, drop, sit, pee, wipe, rise, zip. The only complication I can see is if the woman is having her period. That would take a little time.
Otherwise, the gathering is around the sink and mirrors. Turn on spigot, wash hands, for a guy...turns into, after drying hands, look in mirror, adjust hair, brush or comb, open purse, take out lipstick and compact, apply, take out tissue, perrrrrrrrfectly wipe around corners and such, look again, adjust/comb hair again, maybe take out tweezers and pluck a hair or two from eyebrows, adjust/comb hair again, stand back, admire all over, turn around, look at assward view, turn front, smooth front of skirt, repackage purse...turn to friend, ask if ready, walk out together, allowing next person entrance.
That's what happens in US restrooms.

Yes yes....all of that, but that STILL doesnt explain why there is always a queue for the actual toilet.
In the UK Ladies room it's seldom single entry, there will be a line of toilet cubicles that are full, and thats what women are queuing up for....like I said the actual maintenance is done away from the cubicles.

Oh by the way Quill....many women still wear tights. a pain to get up and down, and unfortunately 'bodies' are coming back into fashion...(thats where one has to fiddle about underneath the gusset with several teeny tiny poppers or hooks and eyes)
You men dont have all that paraphernalia to cope with, plus we often have to juggle with handbags and shopping bags if there is no hook to hang them on.

Yes, I can see that the ensemble can become complicated for women. But still...it's the primping and preening.
