Parents threaten to keep their children home from school after headmaster introduces unisex toilets at his secondary academy

A headmaster has sparked fury after introducing 'unisex' toilets for pupils at his secondary school.

Dominic McKeon had the row of standalone toilets built in the run up to the new school year so boys and girls at the Little Lever School in Bolton, Greater Manchester, could use them together during their lunch break.

But parents were furious after only learning of the move when their children returned to classes following the summer holidays.

Several vowed to keep the youngsters off lessons in protest whilst a campaign against the unisex toilets started on Facebook.

Today, Mr McKeon, who was appointed to the school a year after it converted to Academy status in 2016, posted pictures of the new toilets insisting each cubicle has 'male' and 'female' signs in a bid to appease parents.

I would argue that it is somewhat more than "technically", Quill, and the suggestion that Islam is "commonly referred to as a race" commits such a common fundamental error that for Eddie's critics to condemn her statement as "racist" is simply an attempted exploitation of the race card in support of an indefensible argument.

Islam may well be coterminous with "people of colour" (although we have a Muslim convert in our own village whose family have farmed and owned land here since the 16th century!)  but to refer to people collectively from the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa as a "race" - even colloquially speaking - is absolutely incorrect. Some of them might even be offended by it!

It is not a race, either technically or factually, it is a religion; a faith...the belief in Allah and his prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the adherence to the Koran that transcends racial and geographical boundaries and considerations, as do many, if not most, religions.

Except for....Judaism. This is defined as the monotheistic religion of the Jews

Others are being forced into having to face these conditions, which they do not agree with.

It means, as you say a small minotity is being accomadated for and the rest simple have no say and are even worse called transphobic if they feel uncomfortable. Its so ridiculous. Even worse we are seeing a massive rise and girls with gender dysphoria. Where many girls under 18 have already mental health conditions and studies are showing that online groups and friends are having influence on those with mental health conditions. To then make some feel they better fit in thinking they have gender dysphoria. There is no doubt gender dysphoria exists and clearly some think they are born in the wrong body, but nobody should be given drugs to make them more female or male. Which proves the point there is a difference between genders. AS why need surgery or drugs to make someone be actually different? I think specialists should wait as the majority of children grow out of this with a rate of 60-90% of those who claim they have gender dysphoria. In fact many actually turn out to be gay. Which is why such treatment can be damaging and changing a person through drugs, when the are very much in fact gay. Hence allow them to be who they are, homosexual and not confuse them. Thus no treatment, other than councilling, should be done before they are 18.
