[*]Around 17,000 youngsters have been forced to have decayed teeth removed
[*]This often requires hospital stays and children being put under anaesthetic
[*]There is 'wide variation' between rates of decay in different English regions
[*]Expert said it is a 'tragedy' that postcodes determine children's oral health

Much of that was due to black current and Orange juice in baby bottles, Some even gave coke!

It's known how bad that is for gums and teeth. I gave mine water and if they had black current it was so watered down that it was more water than anything. Like me, my children and grandchildren drink water a lot.

British have always had the reputation for bad teeth, over here. Suggest, maybe, the water? Perhaps it's getting better as the world grows smaller.

I have nice teeth, as do many Brits. Maybe we dont spend as much on cosmetic procedures as the Americans do, but that doesnt mean we  all have  bad teeth. snobby

Kids starting school with bad teeth is a worry.
Sugar is hidden in so many foods now, so called healthy drinks are often sugar filled.
Home cooking could cut out a lot of sugar, but so many dont bother now.
