Happy You Day. Hahahahaha. That just sounds so very stupid.
Doesn’t matter what gender you are, you can still be called a ‘mum’. Doesn’t mothering someone just mean they’re a mother aka mum?
PC fuckeries.

Indeed, what gets me is how they would think this would actually even be a profit margin from producing such cards.
Its just pandering and an advertizement spin

I looked high and low for a Christmas card with GRANDSONS on once....plenty for grandson, none for 2 of them.
I saw plenty for almost anyone else you could think of....but none for Grandsons (plural)
I recieved 2 cards for 'Nana on Mothers day'...today...so that was nice.

TBH, the whole business of mother's day is PC bullshit. You should take your wife, mother, aunt, or whomever, whenever you want. It's coercive nonsense to set aside a day when you have to, but for no reason other than the industry says you have to.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it "PC bullshit" but Mother's Day (strictly speaking it should be Mothers' day") is today largely a reflection of modern commercialisation - just another spendfest ranking alongside Christmas, Easter and All Saints' Eve.
It originates from the old Christian festival of Mothering Sunday, which was a celebration of Mother Church and motherhood and one way in which it was traditionally observed was the granting of a special day off work for domestic and other servants in order to allow them to visit their Mother church - the one in which they were baptised.

Re: Waitrose sells gender-neutral Mother's Day cards to make the day more 'transgender inclusive'
Years ago they had a nans day. I was a teenager and sent my nan a card, she had no idea about the day lol. It stopped, I don't think it caught on.
I agree it is a way for card shops, florists and main shops to make money, never the less I still celebrated mother's day and fathers day with my parents.

Re: Waitrose sells gender-neutral Mother's Day cards to make the day more 'transgender inclusive'
I love Mothers day....all the miserable sods who don't like it are probably too tight to treat their mums or begrudge others doing it.
Everyone on the planet has had a mum or has been a mum, its a day for sharing.
Obviously its sad when we lose our own Mums, seeing the cards in the shops brings a lump to my throat because my own lovely mum isn't around now, but I am a mum myself, so I get to be spoiled a bit by my son.
