I don't want to argue the underlying matter right here. But I do want to lay down enough to show that my concern is genuine and well-founded.

But you said "So, as long as y'all were discussing it anyway" .
So you brought it up
And once it clicked who you were referring to
that's why I said never mind
so i would suggest you make your mind up what you want
And just as a closing thought the person who originally informed me of your real name wasn`t who you are referring to was it
It was in fact one of your friends

Ah Quill, I've been expecting you on this thread and as I thought you've been around sowing your little seeds to try and introduce some doubt about my credibility and whether I can be trusted enough to be a mod on this forum.
Well you really have a cheek because the only person I know that has revealed what were supposed to be the personal details of another poster and his family on any forum that I have been on is you. Yes Quill, you. You were sanctioned for doing just that so you have some serious form and questions to answer in that respect.
And just for the record, I have never ever banned anyone, called for anyone to be banned, edited anyone's posts, deleted anyone's posts or passed on any personal information about anyone. Stephenmarra did not post that on speakfree though Bee did heBeekeeper wrote:
THE supposed "personal information" that Quill posted on 'SpeakFree' is actually in the PUBLIC DOMAIN ~
as "Stephen Reay" is the CEO of a multi-faceted publicly registered business in the north west of England, with such details available online !
THE person who Quill then mistakenly identified as Stephen Reay at that time was seemingly another fake ID in his own turn anyway ~ which then seems to have disappeared itself in the last couple of weeks ~ though I'll bet the person behind it is still here somewhere with a newly created identity !!
AND no doubt he still also maintains his alter egos back on the 'FF' and 'CC' forums ?
ALSO ~ Quill wasn't the "only one" to reveal potential personal information on another member ~ as Stephenmarra had posted personal details that he had obtained from a member of the FF Forums a couple a couple of days before he in turn was "shown the door" at SpeakFree !
"As the world turns, turns, turns..."
And quite frankly, if posters, post personal details about them self on a public forum that can be used to identify them they have only them self`s to blame
The amount of times I have warned people about this could fill a book

Re: Admins or mods?
And Stephenmarra is NOT Stephen Reay, and I'm sure you will confirm Korben, he was NOT banned from Speakfree.
And this is the article Quill said he got his information from:
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/female-first-owner-first-active-1232893
and it doesn't give any personal information about said Stephen Reay, never mentions his wife, which Quill gave personal information about, including her place of work, and does not link him in any way to any other Stephen, Marra or otherwise.

Perhaps Victor could verify that Stephenmarra was never banned? I know you can't verify who he is, you didn't know him very long, but nobody banned him from Speak.

Hon I have given up any desire to mod or admin - I want to design and program - unfortunately to do that means I need some people who do want to be admins but they seem to be rather thin on the ground.

Uh where does any sort of mental problem affect ability to design and programme? In fact when it comes to original design there does seem to be evidence that certain mental conditions are an advantage.

Hi eddie. I am well thank you and I hope you are too and of course the bairns as well. I expect the laddie will be sort of pleased with the Hammers winning 2-0 today but disappointed that big Andy got sent off after just coming back after injury.
Anyway, I see you have been busy around the forum which is good so I'll expect we'll bump into each other along the way.

Irn, I have no criticism of you at all. I think you are a gentleman and an excellent poster. But you must admit we have a situation. You are extremely close to someone who will take any opportunity to fault or otherwise malign me. Therefore I must be guarded when communicating with you.
As to your criticism of me for the Stephenmara matter, you are beating a dead horse. First, it has already been pointed out that the information that I posted about Stephen was public domain. The newspaper article I proffered was simply an example of how public Stephen's life really is. Stephen owns a huge website, Female First, of which I have been a member since 2004. He was first known as "Stephen" (he likes to use his real name in his own tag) until about 2007, when he changed it to "Judge." As an active participant in his own website, he actively posts about things...including his own life. His wife is in the public domain, as is her business. His pub is well known, and many other details which I omitted. I could have posted the business address of Female First, near Wigan, but I did not.
Second, the message I had for Stephen was, if you live in a glass house, do not throw stones...don't start something you wouldn't like to finish. Stephen was going into my background with abandon--a fact that was completely ignored by Admin of Speak Free. Thus I had to take matters into my own hands.
Third, the truth of my assumption was revealed by Admin of Speak Free himself. Putting aside the fact that it was all public domain information, had I been mistaken about who Stephen was, I would never have been banned. There is no rule against being mistaken. I was sanctioned for speaking of (putative) private facts, about a real person. There is no other interpretation.
As to why Stephen was treated to most-favoured status whereas I was not, the answer lies in the major flaw of Speak Free. Cronyism was rampant over there. Most of the members of SF (as here) were from Sky, which closed. The conservatives were pushed out by the liberal gang, and that left only Bee and me, who are liberal, but not ex-Sky. So despite the fact that the info was public domain, the trouble arose because Stephen was closer to Admin that was I. It was more personal, than any violation of rules, Irn. You are just twisting the facts to suit yourself...unfortunately, that's not a real option.

Yes, T...you were more than fair as second Admin over there. Victor fell prey to cronyism, and favoured the old Sky Network members over others. Wonderful fellow as well...but there was that flaw.

I will point out here that running a forum is something that looks sooo soooo easy until you actually try it
Guest- Guest
Re: Admins or mods?
RIGHT...I have had ENOUGH
BEN i know this is your forum and I guess you are as sick of the continued fall out from speakfree as anyone.
I hope you will allow me this one time right of reply, i am going to put MY point of view, once and once ONLY ...I will NOT reply any further.
FIRSTLY there was a fall out over my banning didge, which the mods disagreed with. NOW they then went and made two "errors" the first was to blame another poster for this....that is NOT the case...I banned didge because i allowed my personal feelings about him cloud my better judgement, a mistake I admit to and one which upon reflection, and in consultation with another remaining mod, I decided should be undone...at the same time, such a realisation made me wonder if I had been fair with other bans, so I called the amnesty in order to settle any doubts.
The second error was to not bring their greiveance to me directly, but to discuss the matter "in the loft" as it were
that said THAT was not the reason for closure.
The second problem was a fall out between a few of the mods due to something I STILL have no idea over...and really dont WANT to know.
personal disputes became embedded in the attitudes in the forum and things got a bit...heated...despite myself and my then co admin trying to keep a lid on it.
however THAT was not the reason for closure.
THEN we had the situation with Quill posting what appeared to be personal details of another poster. whether or not these details ARE public domain or not is beside the point.....what does quill expect me to do...go on a massive internet search to find out, or simply accept his word?? or what?
the fact that at the end of it all it still seems quill was mistaken as to the identity of another poster is irrelevant.
the details WERE posted. there was a risk they could have been real...THAT is sufficient IMO to earn a cautionary sanction.
the other poster mentioned posted a picture of a musician, who's name apparantly matched another poster...but nothing else..IT COULD have been coincidence...I didnt believe it but non the less, this posters name WAS known to a number of people who had taken the time to cross reference may of the things he had posted....
now posting details purporting to be of a another person is a serious matter.
posting a picture of someone with the same name as another poster is well, potentially bad, but I took it as a hint that there COULD..be more to come. It was a THREAT to reveal more details...now thats just wrong and the poster who put that up was told in no uncertain terms of the consequences of going further
quill then made a mighty song and dance about it. I was accused of all sorts of things...
so i thought put all these together, and thought why the hell do I bother...I made a call to my co admin (who had also had enough and we both though oh fuck it...its not worth the bother....
THATS WHY SF closed....because the members clearly wanted it to....NO-ONE was prepared to make the effort to keep it working and all they could do was kick the admins...BOTH TTS and myself were accused of siding with one side or another this faction that faction....so......
you may have noticed that since I have been on here I have been a lot less restrained in my posting....Because as ADMIN i was constrained to try to keep a neutral line and still get my point across....NOT ANY MORE
stephenmara was NOT banned, or sanctioned in any way.
the matter is now closed...doubtless others will have yet another go... ::dunno:: I should care....

Re: Admins or mods?
quill: stephen reay was conservative, stephenmarra was leftwing. They have different linguistic patterns. I only remember Reay posting under the names paul and judge.
I believe they're different people. Bee believes they're different. Considering you're essentially accusing stephenmarra of running a computer hacking ring, I think it would have been better to wait unless and until you had real evidence to that end before making serious allegations.

Re: Admins or mods?
well that`s NOT the tone or view you presented to me in your emails on the subjectOriginal Quill wrote:Korben Dallas wrote:
I assume you are referring to Victor when siting the Admin ?
Yes, T...you were more than fair as second Admin over there. Victor fell prey to cronyism, and favoured the old Sky Network members over others. Wonderful fellow as well...but there was that flaw.
Where among many things you said "I do care about your attitude. T, I’m smarter than you…or Victor. I am a trained attorney and a skilled criminal investigator. You, on the other hand, leave so many holes and loose ends in your story that it is obvious you are hiding something. You wouldn’t make it past the interview. "
Or did I misunderstand
