Cannibal Rat-Infested Ghost Ship Lyubov Orlova 'Heading for Britain'

A mysterious ghost ship carrying nothing but diseased cannibal rats could be drifting towards Britain after being lost at sea for a year, salvage experts have warned.

.... Maritime experts believe that its only occupants now are cannibal rats who may have reproduced thousands of times over the course of the year after eating each other.

Rats' gestation period = 21 days;
Baby Rat's are ready to reproduce at a few months old;
Mummy rats are ready to go again a few days later;
There are 365 days in a year..

SOMEONE, somewhere ~ explain to me how a shipload of rats can reproduce "thousands of times" in one year !

I think you forgot one factor, Bee. They're cannibal rats. They eat each other. More likely, when they find the ship, they will find one huge, obese rat left.
