I think this thread is in bad taste even if it's not a wish list.

A bit morbid but interesting list. I guess it will be interesting too, to compare this next year. My predictions. All members of the Rolling Stones.

Rags sometimes people think thoughts but don't say them out loud.
Does that make them any different to the ones that do?
I often think Prince Phillip hasn't got long....so if I think it or type it, what's the difference?

Yes, it does make them different. A death pool FFS! It reminds me of when people were betting on when Jade Goody would die. It's sick, and I can't believe people say this stuff on public forums or the internet in general. How would you feel if you read that someone was betting that you'd die in the next year? It's one thing to discuss it quietly at home or in a pub, but publishing a list of people you bet will die in the next year is quite another matter. Does it make you feel good that you were right?

Re: So - who won't see Christmas 2017
Discussing it in a pub and discussing it on a forum - no different.
How would I feel if people bet on me dying? No way at all to be honest? It's not a curse it's a thought and I don't much care.
Do I feel good I was right? Nope.
Do I think my opinion or thought contributed to his death in any way? Nope.
This really is a pointless discussion rags.
People that think something and don't say it, are no different to those who do, lets face it.

Of course it's different! This is a public forum, and people are betting on who will die next? If you think that's normal or in any way acceptable, well ...
I never suggested that someone can make someone die by thinking they will die. It does give people a chance to boast that they were right though, doesn't it?

But it's just mind boggling to think about those that aren't up in their late 80's - 90's succumbing to some horrid accident or illness. This past year has been just awful.

Yeah I suppose so rags....I have boasted all day about his death and I'm so glad I'm right.
Whatever. If you think it or say it, makes no difference to an outcome. Just that one is braver to own what they say and I don't feel shamed about anything I say. I don't feel the need to secretly whisper my opinions.
And for the record I didn't start the dead pool thing - I just gave an opinion.
Sorry about that.

This topic was discussed on LBC this morning by Katie Hopkins.
A number of listeners phoned to say they had almost wished GM had been ill, so they could show their love and respect whilst he was still alive.
In a morbid sort of way, I can understand that.
When they out of the limelight, celebrities quickly become forgotten.

Starting a "death pool" is sick. Trying to make out that there's nothing wrong with it is also sick, so yes, on this occasion I do think I'm better.
If one of the people named on this thread dies, will the person who named them find it and boast about being "right"?

True - True.
BTW - no one is placing BETS on this, we are just discussing the possibilities! Geeze, it gets soooo exhausting the way 'SOME' members just love to TWIST a thread/topic title/a written post around into something that it IS NOT!

Well that's just absurd too. George Michael was very ill a few years ago, so they had the chance then.

Nope, not what this thread/topic is about ...NOT A POOL - NOT A BETTING TOPIC and to do so in the USA would be a bad - bad thing. The FCC frowns upon such gaming regulations being handled on the Internet; are you trying to get Ben into trouble?Raggamuffin wrote:4EVER2 wrote:

It's exactly what it is. No money is changing hands, but it's betting on people dying all the same.

More's the pity for you, little one!
And again; this topic IS NOT BETTING - no dates - no physical conditions - no guesses asked for WHO/WHAT/WHEN/WHERE/WHY - and absolutely no monetary value has been asked.
You seem to be unaware of what a actual BET is all about ...just say'n; you seem to have gotten out of the wrong side of your bed this BOXING DAY

Well, hmmmm ...you're always expressing your power of OPINIONS about everyone else and it's just rather pathetic and silly.
No one has/had an issue on this topic but "YOU" and yet now your twisting that around to try to yank my chain with 'You Seem Very Angry on Christmas Day' = yet another WRONG interapatation from a very narrow minded reading perspective!

What's wrong with having an opinion? Most of the posts on this forum are based on someone's opinion. Why shouldn't I have an issue with this subject? I don't follow the crowd like you, and it's not relevant that others don't agree with me. You started the shite about "Boxing day", so I replied in kind. You sat here on Christmas day getting angry and arguing and ranting.
If you don't like me replying to your provocation, don't start an argument. If you can't take it, don't dish it out. That should be your New Year's resolution.

Not your first {nor will it be your last} ability to twist the community rules to suit your agenda; posting an opinion about the thread/topic is as we are supposed to do - posting opinions about fellow members {something you've provided me since my first day} is supposed to be against the RULES!Raggamuffin wrote:4EVER2 wrote:Well, hmmmm ...you're always expressing your power of OPINIONS about everyone else and it's just rather pathetic and silly.
No one has/had an issue on this topic but "YOU" and yet now your twisting that around to try to yank my chain with 'You Seem Very Angry on Christmas Day' = yet another WRONG interapatation from a very narrow minded reading perspective!
Boxing Day, isn't that supposed to be a HAPPY EVENT, are you not HAPPY?
What's wrong with having an opinion? Most of the posts on this forum are based on someone's opinion. Why shouldn't I have an issue with this subject? I don't follow the crowd like you, and it's not relevant that others don't agree with me. You started the shite about "Boxing day", so I replied in kind. You sat here on Christmas day getting angry and arguing and ranting.
If you don't like me replying to your provocation, don't start an argument. If you can't take it, don't dish it out. That should be your New Year's resolution.
You seem to be having a really bad - bad day, and this is just one of many topics you've expressed a sour opinion about; I was just wondering why, your so compulsive obsessed with dropping negative comments around if you are that UNHAPPY?

Agreed; given the upheaval world wide at this moment in history, I'd hate to see the UK having to pay for a huge funeral process for the Royal Family.
Don't know if the Queen and her hubby are given the 'Flue Vaccine' but since they've both been down & out with some crude ...and given their advanced ages, the flu often takes this age group before the Spring arrives.

I haven't twisted any rules. If posting opinions about other members is against the rules, you break those rules every five minutes.
I'm having a perfectly fine day - I just think that people who predict the deaths of others on a public forum are out of order. That's not the same as having a bad day. You're the one who appears to be very unhappy - nearly all your posts are sour and bitter.

Well, that just proves another thing much like your claims about 'FAITH' ...you are WRONG yet again! But we've visited this Opinionated Issue you deem worthy to write and keep shoving at me many - many times before!
Interesting and oddly not like the Christians that 'I' know.

Don't start on about my faith - that will only lead to further arguments and to you breaking the rules again. It's not relevant to this thread at all.

I'll add you back into my morning meditations ...you seem in dire need of some REAL Ho-Ho-Holiday happy attitude!Raggamuffin wrote:4EVER2 wrote:
Nope, not what this thread/topic is about ...NOT A POOL - NOT A BETTING TOPIC and to do so in the USA would be a bad - bad thing. The FCC frowns upon such gaming regulations being handled on the Internet; are you trying to get Ben into trouble?
Perhaps, avoiding topics that seem to trigger your anger would be the best thing for you to do ...this is an OPEN COMMUNITY for topics that are of interest for the GROUP; not just what appeases you specifically!
It's exactly what it is. No money is changing hands, but it's betting on people dying all the same.
If you avoided subjects which triggered your anger, you wouldn't post on this forum at all! You seem to spend all your time getting in a temper about one thing or another. = 7:27 am
Just say'n ...there are those that practice and there are those that do not.

Oh, I see. the last bit was yet another dig at my faith. I've already asked you not to do that - it's against the rules and it's not relevant.

I don't know how you can wish death on someone that you don't even know.
