Good idea. I reckon we should lock up that spider thread now. We don't need any more pictures of those hairy nasty things anyway.
Let's lock it up and set fire to it!

I wonder is she is super nice at other times for the cat to put up with it or is she just really quick with the camera

If you know anything about Cats you should be able to read their facial expressions, and the expression on that Cats face is unmistakable.

Not only that, but look at the claws on the back feet...already out. That cat's giving it ten more seconds, at best.

Re: The Cats Thread
Can anyone solve this problem? For nearly six months my cat has been pulling his hair out, his back legs and flanks are almost bald. In any other respect he is ok. I have spent around £4OO trying to cure him.
Treatment includes, Blood tests, change of food, steroid injections,tablets,[3 different types] no fleas found, but flea treatment given. Fellaway treatment ongoing for 2 Months now, no change.

Re: The Cats Thread
.
@ nicko :
Stress related eczema ???
("Excessive grooming dermatitis"..).
Brought on possibly from missing your other cat, since it went missing..
Has it been fretting over the past few weeks, looking around, become jumpy, wanting company when feeding, meowing more than normal ?
I have seen cats here fretting and stressing out, when one of their companions died last year.. It can be a big change to their environment/'community'/routine..
I have heard of it being treated by giving the affected cat a part of a antihistamine tablet, (or even part of an aspirin, (though, I wouldn't do it offhand, as both could prove to be quite toxic to cats and dogs !!!)).
'Anti depressants' may also be another possibility, though that has to be prescribed by a vet..
I will have to ask a neighbour what he was doing for his cat a few months ago, when she was suffering from some stress-related hair pulling out..
In the meantime, I just Googled "stress related eczema in cats" :
http://www.catsofaustralia.com/cat-stress.htm

Re: The Cats Thread
Wolfie, after reading all the information given, the problem seems to be stress, bye the way, he had started pulling his hair out before other cat was introduced. The best treatment for stress for my cat appears to be Felliway witch I have just started, [a week ago]. Another thing I read is see a Pet Behaver Therapist, I enquired about this, the nearest one is 40 odd miles away and is a £80 a visit !several visits will be required, can't travel that far and could not afford it.Will give the Felliway a full trial and see how it goes.

Re: The Cats Thread
"Pet therapists" and "animal behaviourists"...
I've never met one in real life; let alone consulted or hired one..
Sometimes, for some reason I feel like lumping them together with the likes of naturopaths, homeopaths, facilitators, 'futurists', psychotherapists, idearists, astrologers, innovators, psychics -- the sort of people who can't find real jobs in real life, and so then go for the pretend jobs with zero real world foundations; and often no practical experience.
And then charge exorbitant fees for their supposed "services"..

Re: The Cats Thread
"Animal rescuers have saved a neglected cat whose fur was so matted it had turned into dreadlocks.
Staff at the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Centre in Pittsburgh said the pet's fur had been growing for years.
She was only discovered when her elderly owner, who has Alzheimer's disease, moved into a nursing home.
The cat, named Hidey, has now had a much-needed hair cut to remove around 2lbs of matted fur from her body."

Re: The Cats Thread
So. The furries decided to party hard at 4:30an. This consists of running around, jumping up and down on the bed, sitting on my head/chest/butt in my face purring and/or farting. It’s my day off. At 6:30am after eating, pooping and yet more general mayhem, they decided it’s nap time.
I love them dearly, but NOT THAT EARLY DAMMIT!!

Lol. I don’t shout boo, but I roll them over and give their bellies a good rub. They then give me the death stare.
Ps if you click on the picture, you can see the third one. Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone that it isn’t showing.

My little adopted cat who was badly abused and thrown out of her home when she was small.
The family next door and I care for her....she loves commuting between us both.
She never meows and hates to be picked up, she goes for most people and some people, including the other family next door are a bit scared of her because she is so unpredictable, but she loves me....and I love her.
