cats
My young cat "mitzie" went out Sunday morning and has not come home.
The old cat Scruff is looking every where for her, keeps going out and sitting just outside the gate then comes in looking at her bed and crying.
Feel like crying myself, can't stop thinking about her lying injured, or some one has picked her up.

Re: cats
Does she normally do that? If not, please put adverts up asking people to look for her. Ask neighbours if they will check their sheds. One of my cats went missing for several weeks but I did find her eventually.

Oh, I hope you find her. Perhaps someone has taken her in or is feeding her. Also, I'd drive around the local area just in case as you're not obliged to report a cat if it's been run over.

Re: cats
Also ring the local vet - people sometimes put notices up there if they find a cat.

Sorry Nicko... Is this the first time she's been gone this long?

Re: cats
Never been gone longer than 3 or 4 hours, then comes back, says "hello"
jumps on my lap and cuddles up. Old cat and myself keep looking at the cat flap expecting her to come in. Have phoned Vet and spoke to neighbours, no joy yet.

^ Good the neighbours are looking out for Miss Mitz. Crossing my fingers for her swift return - cats of course are hardy and very smart.

I hope she comes back home Nicko.
I know the feeling of trawling the streets looking for a missing cat.
I'm sure if she can she will come home eventually....fingers crossed.

Re: cats
Still no sign of her then nicko.
Have you put some notices up? People do read those and look out for missing cats. You could include a pic and a request for everyone to check their sheds/garages. Also try putting an ad in the local paper.

Don't give up hope nicko. I once lost my cat for several weeks, and I felt like you did. I did find her eventually though, and I did that by asking absolutely everyone to look out for her. She actually wasn't very far away from home. Have you thought about all the places she might go and get trapped or lost?

Re: cats
Have you tried walking around your area and calling for her, or shaking a box of cat treats?

Re: cats
So sorry Nicko, I don't know much about cats but I am sure she will come back.
My brother's cat (whom I actually quite liked) went missing for days on end sometimes.
She was getting fed by someone else as well as my brother. We only realised cos she got really plump!

Tried shaking her treats box, got funny looks off some.
My old cat sits looking at the cat flap for hours, then wanders around giving quiet "meow's"

Re: cats
Sorry to hear this... I know how agonising it is when a cat goes missing...
Years ago my cat went missing for weeks... tried everything... went round jingling my keys everywhere, asking neighbours, further and further around... no luck.. put signs up with description and phone number... no luck...
Then I went to a music rehearsal studio about 3 miles away (was in a band)... next to woodland... and speaking to the guy who run it I mentioned missing cat and signs... he said he'd seen it... I thought he meant the signs cos I'd put them up everywhere... but no he meant he'd seen the cat!!!
He said he walked his dog in the woods every day and for last few weeks he'd seen a cat hiding out in there behind a wire fence... same description as mine!!!
So I went looking round the area... was a little house all on its own nearby and I knocked and asked... old boy said he had seen same cat lately once or twice...
There was also a burger stall by car park there and I asked them... they said they had seen it lately too... said saw him about hour before I asked...
Then I went over to a nearby wooden fenced off bit of woods... jingled my keys over it... and in the distance I saw long grass start moving about... getting nearer and nearer then saw black thing start jumping through it towards me!!!
Was my cat!!!
He jumped straight up over the fence and into my arms!!!
Back in car he just clung onto my lap... got home and fed him and then he slept for hours.
Was a bit thin but apart from that was no worse for wear!!!
He was 3 miles away in and found him after about 6 weeks.
Hope you find yours!
Sometimes they get into vehicles and get driven off without driver knowing and then jump out some distance away.
If chipped then usually found quite quick and returned.

My sister's cat (a male) ran away for several weeks, then just showed up again one day like "What?"
We started noticing all kinds of black kittens in the neighborhood after that
Keep putting food out, maybe include some treats with it. My sister's cat finally went to kitty heaven last year, he lived to about 13.
Re: cats
I was jingling my keys because that is a sound they know and hear all the time... and can hear from quite a distance away.
