The first of the children from the jungle arrived today. The ones I saw looked atleast 20!

But this is what you'd expect, and I'm sure nobody objects to this lad being reunited with his brother. Should everyone with family be let into the UK? I think so, yes. I just wish they'd be more honest about it, and stop calling these young men, children.

Edited to say, this is a child and he looks fourteen. I also get that many youngsters look older than their years. I think if they have family in the UK then they should be allowed to come here if their own country is unsafe.

I look at it this way....I have three brothers, one of whom is gay. And I would like to think that, if they were in this situation, their lives in danger, and I was here, then they'd have eventually safe passage to be with family. I think the problem is the word 'children'. Perhaps they should change the usage to below the Age of Majority. People might have a better understanding of that and what it relates to.

Funny how that never made children in ww2 look any older, and they were bombed out of homes. Also young boys in the first world war, fighting, they looked their age. Im not buying this.

I think if they are really children they should go to their families, but as I said, why are their families here, and they are there, didn't they travel with them? How many are really families and jot just saying that, they have no papers as they destroy them they could be kids or are members of IS for all we now.

Also how many of the youngster have families in other countries, why not go there?

It wont stop, and will carry on and on. As much as I think its sad to be made homeless, in the war thousands were bombed out and had nowhere to go, no country wanted the british kids.

Im many things Sassy but ignorant isnt one of them.

They could've fought with the Iraqi troops who are fighting out there, to liberate Syria. They had to come through Iraq to get here after all.

Of the 500 who have had their age queried, 65% were found to be over 18. This included one aged 32. They could start there. Or they could think about the Afghan national who claimed to be a child, he was an adult who went on to commit a serious assault. Dress it up any which way the are not children!

I wondered that. Surely there must be young girls on their own. Are other countries taking these 'boys' too. They all claim to have families here, but now it turns out many don't - well we saw that coming.

I have no qualms in helping anyone, especially kids, but these liars get in, and the real kids dont.

One, so called child, who performed a sexual act on the lady who took him in and gave him a home, wasn't a child at all, and how do we know they're not IS either. Its a shambles, and the luvvies lwho called for them will not offer their homes to them I bet.

Less than 5% in Calais are from Syria. You are right they are economic migrants who, if genuine, would have claimed asylum in the first safe country.
