Hillary Clinton - not well
First topic message reminder :
Reports she nearly collapsed at ground zero commemoration ceremony and had to leave to rest and recover...
But is this just another example of some much more serious health issues...?
https://youtu.be/OqbDBRWb63s
Fits and seizures...?
Unstable mentally as well as physically...?

Tommy, I don't listen to your 1 1/2-hour long clips for the same reason I don't listen to Faux News...there's only so much bullshit a lone man can take. Try listening to an hour and a half of Rush Limbaugh...even you couldn't do it.
I know what you like. It comes from the lower end of the RW stripe--haha, no pun intended, but I have to laugh. Same difference!
So... you haven't even tried to look at any of it...!?
Obviously!!!
Because you are claiming it is a 1 1/2 hour long video... when it is not 1 1/2 hours at all...!!!
So you dismiss everything said as being lies... without actually knowing what is said...!?
There you have it folks!!!

Re: Hillary Clinton - not well
The poor woman clearly isn't well. There is nothing wrong with being ill, can't be helped and it happens to us all.
She should have just fessed up, hiding the situation has made the whole thing much worse and now there are far too many rumours out there questioning her health and ability.
Please don't take this the wrong way but there has been a big rush for her supporters to defend her and deny the reality. It hasn't helped, she's done nothing wrong but people have used this to score political points. Sometimes I think people just follow politicians blindly regardless of the person and circumstance, instead following the party "label".
Why can't people just be honest?

Hi FTL. The problem is, she didn't know anything was going on either. She just thought she had a cold, and like a million of us would do...she just kept on working and going out.
I think the tail is wagging the dog on the Hillary concerns: the story is the story. She's over here on the sidelines, living her life like the rest of us. Trump has got the Gobbles thing going (tell a lie enough times...) with Hillary's health. We all talk about the meta-story and forget to ask the real person, herself.
Like the rest of Trump's porkys...there's no there, there.

Yeah, all that's changed since the weekend. New talk is out, and it is reported that she has a cold, and that a mild pneumonia has set in. So she's taking a 4-5 day rest.
Trump has also complained mightily that she has given no news conferences. This could be the reason.
Anyway...it's take an aspirin and hit the bed for a couple of days.

Meh...I can't deny what I didn't know. They really didn't announce Hillary's cold until yesterday.
But I do recall speculating that she might have a cold or a flu because of the cough she exhibited a week or so ago. Even there, if I was right in that suspicion it was just a lucky guess.

Why? What is your point? The video I saw had her stepping off the curb. There was no tripping or any kind of mishap that I saw. She was surrounded by aides, so my view was perhaps obstructed. But, the reporters on the spot also said they didn't see anything either. As the Politico article you brought to the table said:
Politico wrote:...those on hand did not witness any incident.
You would think that they would have said something if they saw anything.
Apparently she has a cold. That leads to coughing, and the mild case of pneumonia that is the topic of news reports. That's all.

I didn't see her trip. I saw her step down from the curb to the street. At least that's what it appeared behind all the people between her and the camera. I saw what most people on the spot saw:
Politico wrote:...those on hand did not witness any incident.
Why is it important to you to have her trip? Is there some greater issue into which this fits? Or are you just pursuing the matter as a frivolity.

Re: Hillary Clinton - not well
You said you'd seen the video and you saw her trip...
Everyone else has seen the video and can clearly see her wobbling about and collapsing and being carried into the car by her aides on all sides of her.
If they hadn't caught her and held her up then she would have been laid out cold on the floor!!!
Clearly seen in the video!!!
So for you to try to say that you saw the video and only saw an innocent slight trip...!?

And yet those on the scene say they saw nothing. Well, I wasn’t there, so I can’t explain it. Moreover, it's not my video and frankly, I didn’t see anything on the video, perhaps because people were in the way.

I thought it had been stated that she was suffering with pneumonia, which is somewhat different to a simple "cold."
That being the case, one has to question the wisdom of both Hillary and her advisors in allowing her to come into close contact with others while carrying the symptoms of what can be a highly contagious disease and one which could prove to be life-threatening to others with certain medical conditions.
And no, before I become a target for left Wing aggression and opprobrium, I am not making a political point. I know far too little about US politics to become involved in an argument with posters who do so; all I know is that the thought of either Clinton or Trump - particularly Trump - literally having a finger on the nuclear button scares the shit out of me.

It's a matter of a fast moving story. Hillary had a cold, which incidentally is going around with her campaign staff and the press right now (it's reported on MSNBC). She was diagnosed with walking pneumonia on Friday last. The pneumonia is secondary to the cold.
Pneumonia is a general term for any lung inflammation. In most of us it goes undetected without a chest x-ray or blood test. Pneumonia is a symptom, not a disease. Pneumonia itself is not communicable, however the underlying cold is a virus and can be communicated.
I don't know anything about a slip and fall. Tommy has been talking about that and keeps thinking I claimed it. That's the only dispute, and it's a negligible one.

Im glad you cleared that up as I was waiting for someone to point out that pneumonia isn't catching.
The cold is catching and subsequently Pneumonia can develop afterwards.

There are several types of pneumonia - bacterial, viral, fungal and aspirational - and while streptococcus pneumonia is less contagious than the common cold or even influenza, it is still contagious.
We do not know which form of pneumonia Hillary Clinton had contracted, but there was still a theoretical risk of contagion which could threaten the elderly, very young or people with underlying medical problems.
Sorry, but that is the situation.

According to the American Lung Association"
Amer. Lung Assn. wrote:Pneumonia is a common lung infection caused by bacteria, a virus or fungi. Pneumonia and its symptoms can vary from mild to severe. Many treatments for pneumonia are available. Treatment depends on the cause of your pneumonia, how severe your symptoms are, and your age and overall health. Most healthy people recover from pneumonia in one to three weeks, but pneumonia can be life-threatening. The good news is that pneumonia can be prevented—by getting an annual flu shot (as flu often leads to pneumonia), frequently washing your hands, and for people at high risk, getting a vaccine for pneumococcal pneumonia.
Pneumonia is not a single disease, as proven by the fact that you can get it from either bacteria...or virus...or fungi. Three different organisms mean at least three different diseases, probably more.
Pneumonia is like a runny nose; you can get it from a cold, or flu, or congestive heart failure...many other things as well, including allergens. It's a condition, or set of symptoms associated with various different organisms. It is, or can be a serious condition because the lungs are vital to the intake of oxygen, and so anything that interferes with that is a concern. But it is always secondary to bacteria, viruses or fungi.

Quite correct. However, here is an advisory note published by our NHS:
Catching pneumonia
The germs that can cause pneumonia are usually breathed in. People often have small amounts of germs in their nose and throat that can be passed on through:
coughs and sneezes – these launch tiny droplets of fluid containing germs into the air, which someone else can breathe in
touching an object and transferring germs onto it – someone else can touch this object, and then touch their own mouth or nose
Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, which causes most cases of pneumonia, is far less contagious than a cold or flu. This is because most people’s immune systems can kill the bacteria before they have the opportunity to cause an infection.
In rare cases, pneumonia can develop from an infection somewhere else in the body, when the germs enter the lungs through the bloodstream.
To my mind, that indicates that a diagnosis of actual pneumonia must presume the presence in the sufferer's respiratory system of the causative germs, and thus the aerosol effect of coughing or sneezing alone carries the risk of contagion.
Given the amount of close human contact, including baby kissing and cheek kissing, that is a feature of electioneering I still believe that Hillary was putting others at risk, albeit a slight and maybe even theoretical risk. But a risk nonetheless.

I believe I said that in my first post:
Original Quill wrote:Pneumonia is a general term for any lung inflammation. In most of us it goes undetected without a chest x-ray or blood test. Pneumonia is a symptom, not a disease. Pneumonia itself is not communicable, however the underlying cold is a virus and can be communicated.
The point is that pneumonia is secondary to other bacteria, viruses and fungi.

We are all carriers of human borne diseases. Hillary got her cold from someone else, and no doubt someone else will pass it on to another person. There are many changes we can make to minimize this. I myself, no longer shake hands with someone; instead, I issue a brief 'fist-bump', which minimizes the contact (a practice I got from my own physician).
But the point is that human beings are unwilling to turn planet earth into an isolation zone because of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Other things are more important than even having to endure a cold or flu. As an employer myself, I have to stress to my people how important it is to take time off if you are sick; the productivity of the business is not improved is you come in and spread the disease around. That said, the lawyers who work for me would create havoc if they failed to meet court appearances, depositions and other important dates involving the practice of law.
Hillary is involved in perhaps the most important activity any of us could undergo. She is running for the president of the United States, the most powerful nation on earth. She has taken a 4 - 5 day rest and needs to get on with her heavy schedule.

Quite correct. However, here is an advisory note published by our NHS:
Catching pneumonia
The germs that can cause pneumonia are usually breathed in. People often have small amounts of germs in their nose and throat that can be passed on through:

I am not denying any of that, but I questioned - and will continue to question - the judgement of a politician who, according to media reports had been diagnosed with pneumonia but continued with the close contact business of electioneering.
At this critical stage in the campaign I can well see the reason why -but it's my opinion (and this place is supposed to be a vehicle for the exchange of opinions) that she was ill advised to do so.
I certainly received a pretty strict warning about socialising, and particularly with my grandchildren, while infected. To me, that seemed to be common sense.
