18 Albanians and 2 Brits picked up off kent coast after crossing channel in a RHIB (rigid hulled inflatable boat).

Fact is that we are way too soft on illegal immigrants... the word is out all over the world that all they have to do is get here and then give out a sob story and then we let them stay and give them a nice house/flat to live in and a string of benefits money to spend!

We have to make some big changes to the system... return all Africans to the African union and all middle eastern to the Arab league to take back in reception centres of their building and funding sonewhere on their lands, and then let them organise their looking after and resettlement etc...

I bet nearly all of them will then just decide to go back to their own homes pretty quick!!!

No, I just don't think the problem is so desperate that the people of the UK should be forced to fund Tommy's radical proposal. These 18 were caught, obviously. People are out there working to keep people from illegally entering the country.

And I sincerely doubt that their presence is costing the UK taxpayer more than what Tommy's proposal would cost.

That's ridiculous. First off, most illegals are paying their own way, not rushing to the government to get all sorts of goodies -- remember, they're afraid of the government. These 18 have already cost tens if not hundreds of thousands of pounds of tax payer money in the few days of them turning up on our shores...

They are illegal immigrants who have broken numerous laws along the way.

They are Albanian nationals... coming from a safe country and passing through numerous other safe countries.

They have no right to be here and no right to remain.

The longer they are here, the more they cost...

Immediate removal is not only right but also an end to the cost of them being here.

Tommy is right. It does cost the taxpayer 10's of thousands of pounds 'per head' to implement our immigration policies.

But he's wrong about the answer of deportation. The costs are due to detention centres and the long duration a person is detained due to the lengthy immigration process.

If you want to cut costs, get rid of the detention centres and make the immigrants productive taxpayers as quickly as possible.

Oooooh, bet Tommy doesn't like that answer. But that's how you solve his problem.

Those who arrive are resisting removal at every turn... delaying the process and costing even more money!!!

They don't have any UK papers or uk Id or uk entitlement...

What they do is destroy their home country identification papers/passports etc... so as to try to deny they are from any particular country and delay removal to their home country...

Their home nations are also party to this obstruction by saying that they will not accept any back unless there are any papers/passports available to confirm identification and national responsibility... and they are deliberately awkward and slow in providing any confirmation of national status so as to facilitate the removal of said illegal immigrants too...

We need a better faster way of deportation of illegal foreign nationals...
