More politically correct nonesense
First topic message reminder :
ANGRY parents have blasted Ofsted after it downgraded a top rural nursery for failing to teach three-year-olds about ETHNIC DIVERSITY.
The education watchdog even penalised Town and Country Kiddies Nursery, Lincs, for not having enough pictures of black and Asian people on the walls.

SO it seems 4ever2 has reopened the dialogue by speaking around me and not to me, whilst stil, failing to grasp that teaching a falsehood, of racial diversity in humans does not exist biologically and by teaching that one does. Which then presents humans as being racially different again based off misinformation, as its minor physical appearances variations.. I mean please explain to me how teaching children a lie,. To view and accept that people are racially different, when in fact biologically they are one race. Helps combat racism,l when it creates the necessary means in order for racism to even exist?
Seriously i would be very interested to understand why we wrongly class and view humans as racially different, when biologically they arfe not?
I mean the worst part in all of this.
Again not sure how many times this needs saying, but i back education on diversity, ethnicity, religion, gender etc. i am challenging the present method which will continue to allow racism a continued existance Toddlers are only taught at the age of 3 to learn there are many shades of skin tone,. Thus given painting mercerizes, in order to learn there are differences. where they teach these differences are racial.Which is not teaching the children we are one race and that geography and the climate helped evolve humans to having the many forms of skin tone variation.
You failo to see, that this very method is the reason racism still; exists and will continue to do so, by how we teach children to view each other racially as different. You have provided them with a means to then be prejudice.

So if this community school doesn't want to maintain their "OUTSTANDING RATING" from OFSTED then there's no worry - no gnashing of the teeth - no stress, and the parents have nothing to get bent out of shape about! But if they: care and want the "OUTSTANDING RATING" then it behooves them to adhere to the guidelines that are mandated that they meet! Seems pretty F'n simple"It comes with living in the community where there isn't a great deal of cultural and ethnic diversity.

Ofsted changed the rules on grading schools and nurseries last September meaning they have to meet additional criteria to get an 'outstanding' rating.
But you just continue to cling to your mammoth superior knowledge about the history of racial strife in mankind's world and I'm sure that will do you well should that discussion ever fall into your lap or if your able to brow beat enough adults into listening to your diatribe and thinking --- Geeze, this little guy is really FULL OF IT!

I am totally behind and with you on this. Children are learning from the moment they are born and the first five years particularly, are instrumental, in their learning and progression.

Absolutely. Its why early Literacy is such a big subject now. Talk, sing, read and show books to your children starting when they are newborns. Play music too. Ive had children as young as 3 weeks old at storytimes. It was a national UK campaign when I was a librarian there whereby we partnered with midwives and GPs and health clinics to give out book bags at the first 3 developmental checks and then they would come to the library for the final 2 just before and at preschool age. I'm glad to see that is happening here too. Its something that I keep mentioning at state and regional forums, because it is so important.
Picture books, and children's books in general are becoming more diverse every year which is fantastic and dealing with sensitive topics such as death, family economic hardships, ethnicity, same sex parents, sickness, divorce, step and Multics generation families etc...its mind blowing and so well written and illustrated. Every year it gets better and better!

So yet again talking about me and being unable to answer one single point
Again being as I am well researched on combating racism.you then offer up views about the Nursery itself, which I have not made any views on. Well, that has to go down as a whopper for deflecting away from answering my points.
Though its interesting to see that you actually left out what forms of teaching that they do give.
It states to start the falsehood of separating human groups into races and it does this around skin stones, which is what set off many racism concepts in the first place basing them as being separate races. This lesson should instead be about showing how in fact biologically humans are in fact the same race and that descendants on the geography over a time our ancestors live. That is was the climate that helped evolved our skin tones. Of which each year, countless people attempt and do achieve darkening their skin tones. Which basing a teaching method on this would teach children that different skin tones, does not mean they are from a different race.
The idea to teach an acceptance of people, based around their skin tone variations, that has no race classification. Means no person based on their skin stone, could be viewed and deemed inferior, simply for having darker skin.
The present method, actually opens up the door for racism based off associating skin tones and race.
Teaching Race to 3-4 Year Olds
At this age children are full of curiosity about the world around them and begin to try to make sense of new and exciting environments like school. What a great time to begin a conversation about race and skin color! Readpicture books that celebrate all the different shades we come in.Some of my favorites are:
“The Skin You Live in” by Michael Tyler.
“All the Colors of the Earth” by Sheila Hamanaka
and “Skin Again” by bell hooks.
Tell your child that being surrounded by different skin tones makes the world a richer, more beautiful and interesting place!
A fun activity around skin color is to gather various shades of paint, including white, peach, different browns, etc. and mix paints together to find your child’s—and your—skin tone. You can use this paint to make artwork together. Most important, celebrate the diversity of skin tones in your own family, your larger community and the world while stressing the importance of not using these differences to put each other down.
