Why do they say on our streets? Too much over hype.

Guns are a tool, so is a chain saw, both used as intended are perfect for the job, both misused will kill..

Labour Government took legal handguns off us, now only Police and criminals have 'em!

I AGREE... 

99% of those guns are probably locked away in people's homes, gun clubs and military armouries..


AUSTRALIA reputedly has over 3 million guns.
THAT'S nearly double the rate claimed for Britain..

BOTH countries are still well behind the USA --  where a couple of years ago they supposedly had over 330 million guns for a population of 315 million !!!

Even scarier is how many people are stockpiling -- only 4 in 10 Americans own a gun.

I musta bin about the year 2000 since I actually owned my own bullet gun but I was 8 when I had my first scatter gun.
I owned quite a few at one time.
I have NEVER been in trouble with the copz oeuvre gunz.

the way things are over here Stormee...I hope you have never been in trouble with the cops full stop....

what is it they say here..legitimate gun owners here are the most law abiding citizens there are...

you cant afford NOT to be......

I know someone who had a row with his girlfriend who went to the police for the second time and told them he had threatened to shoot her with his scattergun.
He claimed she lied.
The first time the police seized and kept his gun for 3 months and then said, "no evidence to prosecute" and he had to go about 25 mile to get it back.
The second time was much the same and the police said, "no evidence to prosecute".

She lied and yet the police took her side and caused probs for an innocent legal gun holder.
They should have dealt with her for lying.

The cops who seized the guns were everyday ones, not firearms police and they did not have a clue, they even let him go alone upstairs to fetch his gun for them.

The police overreact on many things but why the hell should they be allowed to seize a legally owned gun when there is not any rel evidence of a crime.

Just remembered, she signed a statement tboth times.

you would have thought they would have prosecuted her for wasting police time....

How about we make womwn wanting babies go through the rigmarole that folks who want guns have to go through

first of all you have to apply for permission

you have to provide proof of competancy
you have to provisde proof of a temperate nature
you have to provide two referees that can vouch for your good citizenship
you have to have a doctors opinion that you are not in any way depressed and have not been treated for depression
you have to show you can safely store said item, in a govt approved storage cabinet ...which is inspected
you have to take responsibility for it for as long as you have it

you ahve to stump up a licence fee
you have to be reinspected and go through the whole of the above every 5 years...

every time you have another you have to notify the police

if its a different one ...you have to be re-examined as above

if you become depressed or otherwise considered unsafe you will lose it

if you do ANYTHING criminal or even get too many speeding tickets....you will lose it....

any thing I've missed???

oh yes...you cant lend it to another licence holder for more than 72 hrs without getting it transferred to their licence....

and thats without specifying if its a schedule 1 or 2 type

and of course you will need to take your licence with you at all times, otherwise the police can impound it untill you supply said licence

and you will also need to show your licence when buying ammunition or certain accesories for it

oh and btw...the licence can take up to a year to appear after first application......

My GP vouched for me but refused to di for anyone else.
A magistrate vouched for my son who was bent as hell, he got kicked off the bench and jailed for fiddling his expenses.

My point is this, WHY duz it have to be someone of standing so to speak.

It doesnt anymore Stormee...just someone who knows you well and is not "disallowed" e.g has criminal convictions etc...

I can put it away when I've done with it for a while and it doesnt eat anything
