Boys particularly, will let you know the age they don't want to kiss you on the lips anymore.
I wouldn't kiss my teenage boy on the lips, he hugs me and kisses me (on my head as he's taller than me pfffff) but it's okay to kiss toddlers on the lips - parents only though, I'd say?

Kissing older children on the lips is slightly odd imo.
My friend has always done this to her two boys....who are now in their 30's.
Cheek kissing and hugging is my preferred method, though my own son now adds a high five just to confuse me.
