All of our politicians need to see this
Meet José Mujica. He may look like your average farmer or grandfather, but he is anything but. This man is globally known as the world’s “poorest President” because he lives a life of humility… all while leading the country of Uruguay. As a man who truly cares about his people, he doesn’t take an obscene amount of money to just act as a politician. He donates about 90% of his $12,000 monthly salary to charities that benefit poor people and small entrepreneurs.

Impressive, but I think the bigger economic problem is CEO salaries rather than politicians' salaries. From Wikipedia: "As of 2001, the president (of the United States) earns a $400,000 annual salary, along with a $50,000 annual expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account, and $19,000 for entertainment."
To put that into perspective, Oracle CEO Lawrence J. Ellison earns more than that ... in three weeks. And he's certainly not alone. In fact, outlandish executive pay is increasingly seen as a drain on national economies:

Government action to curb boardroom pay becomes more likely as an influential group with the ear of the business secretary, Vince Cable, publishes proposals to reduce the pay gap.
Warning high pay is "corrosive" to the UK economy, the High Pay Commission calls for greater transparency in the setting of executive pay and says employees should sit on remuneration committees. Its recommendations come in the most comprehensive report yet on the need for action on top salaries.
The report shows executive pay has risen sharply – the pay of the head of Barclays is up nearly 5,000% in 30 years – while average wages have increased just threefold.

Seen that before Loki. As Ben say, CEOs are a problem as well, but at least he is setting an example, and if more followed CEOs would be shamed to a greater degree.

What a guy that president is indeed...mummies boys Cameron and Osborne would keel over if asked to live without their hair crimpers, nail polish and caviar...
What a great guy and president.

I feel sorry for the poor lackey who has to wipe Cameron's arse after he has a dump, or dispose of his used durex after he has finished copulating with Samantha.
