Muslim Community 'Making Less Than 10%'Of Referrals To Controversial Anti-Radicalisation Prevent Programme
A fraction of referrals to a key Government anti-terror scheme are being made from within the Muslim community, according to reports. Less than 10% of referrals to the Prevent programme, a central plank of the Government's counter-terrorism strategy, come from within the Muslim community, according to figures obtained by The Times. The collapse in referrals means the bulk of tip-offs are originating from public services, such as schools or doctors, breeding distrust and disillusionment among some Muslim communities, it is claimed.A Home Office minister insisted it had worked with "mosques, faith groups and community organisations", as well as placing a duty on public bodies to refer cases.
Data reportedly released by the National Police Chiefs Council revealed that of the 3,288 referrals to Prevent in the first half of the year, just 280 - or 8.6% came from within the Muslim community, or from family, friends and faith leaders.
Nearly 2,200 referrals were made by public bodies outside policing, such as social services and the health or education sectors.
The rest were said to have come from within prisons or from police investigations.
One north London faith group representing tens of thousand of Muslims is said to have called for a boycott of Prevent, while Muslim leaders in East London have also raised concerns that the programme is spying on youngsters.
The Prevent programme forms part of the Government's counter-terrorism strategy, Contest, and is designed to help police and security agencies identify individuals and groups at risk of radicalisation from all groups, such as Islamist extremists or the far-right.

Yet further proof of what I have kept saying, in regards to naratives themselves from within the Muslim community itself through some of its religious leaders. There is many things to pick up on here and as the prevent duty was only introduced this year, the numbers are staggering. I doubt these are all Muslim as I am sure some are far right. What is evident is that apart from a minority group of Muslims, who want very much to work together to help prevent extremism. A majority buy into a narative of viticimiztion, as if Muslims are being picked on, ignoring that for well over a decade the Muslim community has utterly failed in preventing radicalisation.. Many Fuels and spread a falsified narative claiming the west is out to destroy Islam. Pormotes a view that sepeates themselves from within British society that places its belief system above that of the nation itself. You just have to look on the web to see many falsified claims of claims if Western armed forces to raping, murdering etc hundreds of thousands of Muslims in conflicts in he Middle East. How we even know this problem goes all the way to the biggest and mos important Muslim body in the UK in the Muslim council of Britain, who there is now conclusive evidence are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist group that backs suicide3 bombings dependent on who they deligitimize as innocents and teach in fact to classify innocent civillians instead as guilty and justfiied to be killed based on Islamic doctrine. You can see evidence of this where Israeli civillians are not seen as innocent but cast as guilty of an invented crime, that has no validity. Civillians living on land that was once conquered and ruled by Muslims, is deemed to be Muslim for all time. And people keep claiming there is no connection to Islam? Only the Islamic belief around transgression, allows for Muslims to get around these murders being classed as major sin.. Islamic doctrine teaches zero intolerance to any groups of people having self determination for themselves to govern themselves within a land. The joke is it was the Arabs in the Palestinians, Jordanianss, Egyptians, Iraqi and Syrians that trangressed.
So what can we learn from this?
Well fundementally this proves beyond doubt of how big of a scale the problem is in this country. Most of which is fundementally down to naratves they themselves have been promoting for years. It is no wonder then that then more Muslims are then that much more susceptible to extremism, when it is Muslim leaders themselves that is creating a mistrust from Muslims. This then further creates a mistrust from the rest of society and why for years we have continued to see the problem get worse. Its time many of the religious or community leaders recognise that they themselves have made matters far worse playing a view of victimization. When fundementally we know there cleaary is a problem of extremism in this country and by playing off the "being picked on card" is not helping to prevent extremism but fundementally fueling it. I mean one Muslim body calls for a ban and another goes off the most absurd view of spying? This again shows how a narantive of excuses are played out and even worse some groups wanting to banan initiative set out to tackle the problem. Of which if the these same groups had not utterly failed to deal with radicalisation in the first place and where in fact have made the problems ten times worse through falsified narantives that promote distrust and hate of the west.. No such initiatives would be needed.
There is many iin this country that will stand by an injustices where if Muslims have only been targeted for just being a Muslim, many will support such an injustice as that is picking on. But where there is clear evidence showing a path to extremism, to then as seen falsely playing the victim card, does not help or prevent these Muslims who have falledn prey to raicalisation. What they should do instead is like as we see from the Muslim communities and religious leaders who are working together by admitting there is problems, and actually wanting to do something about this. These Muslims I hold my hat off too, they fundementally understand to help eradicate anti-Muslim hatred is to show peoples perceptions are wrong on Muslims. How not only is their faith important to them, but the country and its people are important to them. They no doubt also suffer hate directed at them from Muslims themselves and so facing a double edged sword, they do not shy away from seeking to tackle the problem of extremism, because they fundementally undersatnd the long term goal is to erafdicate not only extremism but anti-Muslim hatred. The more people are supportive of them, then the naratives played out by others will fall flat and be rightly seen as a problem.
So 3288 in the first 6 months referred, which may well only be the tip of the iceberg as we already know of those who have gone off to join extremisr groups like ISIS abroad. Of these 280 people were referred by Muslimsw thmselves. Where 2200 came from social services, schools etc, which is the gravest area of concern. What should be then be asked is why if then they wefre not referred by their own families? It could very well be possible that many of their families did not know, but also very likely that they did know. If they did know then either again the naratives from certain quarters are to blame for why they have not reffered them or they know because they themselves are teaching a an extremist ideology.
These stats more than anything back up what I been constantly saying.
There is no doubt how the far right have fueled anti-Muslim bigotry and hatred in this country, but so have fundementally a sizeable amount of Muslims also fueled this problem with their naratives. As I say many will stand agaiant any injustices against Muslims, if they have been targeted for just being a Muslim. But these same people will also see it as an injustice and fueling extremism if the victim card is played off clear evidence to radicalisation. As I say such rhetoric does nothing for the Muslims who have faced an injustice. As I say this problem has been increasing for years and could only increase with many falsified naratives daily played out in schools, Mosques, homes etc. So those who want to see a stop to anti-Muslim hatred should stop helping to create it. when they should be supporting any initiatives that help prevent extremism.

Re: Muslim Community 'Making Less Than 10%'Of Referrals To Controversial Anti-Radicalisation Prevent Programme
The wording of this is slightly misleading...
It is not saying that only 10% are Muslim... in fact I'd better that all were Muslim!
