Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
And I must note, maybe this is just me being stupid about how the Googler on the ol' internets machine really works. I suspect it does serve you results tailored to your web-browsing habits.
BUT.
I just searched "Newsfix" on Google and we show up on the second page of results.
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who keeps this an active site! I'm sure part of turning up higher in search returns is how much content is regularly generated on the site.
At least, I think I'm sure.

It can grow at its own pace as far as I'm concerned. We've seen a huge influx of new members recently, but I imagine that pace will dwindle and that we can't possibly hope that everyone who's signed up in December will stick around as regular contributors.
Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
What page you appear on in Google is a function of how often your keyword is searched and selected. If you want people to search you more, start a rumour about the growing popularity of beastiality among suburban housewives, or in polygamy in Parliament. Make sure you mention Newsfix, but leave out the URL
You'll see your popularity soar.

If they don't say it on Dr. Who I probably don't know what it means

Love love love Dr Who
Who is your favourite Dr and have you seen the day of the Doctor?

Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
Haha, that's a tough one. I loved Eccleston at first and hated Tenant ... for about two episodes, then he became my favorite. Not to say I didn't also quite like Matt Smith, thought he did a great job! The new guy, Capaldi -- I was dubious at first but I've convinced myself now that Moffat knows what he's doing and that Capaldi will be great. But still, Tenant's my favorite of all.
I did see Day of the Doctor, what did you think? I found it slightly less awesome than I thought it would be, but still good overall. I think maybe the ad campaign got my expectations elevated a bit too high. But I would have liked to see more characters and companions involved.
Speaking of which, who's your favorite companion? I'd have to say for me it was this lovely lady:
... even though, like the Doctor, I haven't really encountered one I didn't like. I guess Clara was my least favorite but that's not to say I didn't like her. I liked Amy Pond and Donna quite a bit, too.

Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
'My' Doctor was Tom Baker, but since it came back, Im with you, I thought Christopher Ecclestone was brilliant and was prepared to dislike Tennant. I then promptly loved him to bits!
Donna is my fave companion.
I get your point about Day of the Doctor, but Tom Baker was in it so I was happy :D

Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
Christopher Ecclestone was a tad moody and dark but still a excellent doctor but its a pity Jonathan ross scared the hell out of him with the doctor toy figureNemsAgain wrote:'My' Doctor was Tom Baker, but since it came back, Im with you, I thought Christopher Ecclestone was brilliant and was prepared to dislike Tennant. tennnat was great ,and same as mat smith
and even though i am sceptical about capaldi

And the day of the doctor ....i thought was awesome watched it at least 10 times so far

Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
Have to admit, I haven't really watched the pre-2005 episodes (just a bit of one). It's kind of like how I have a hard time watching the original Star Trek -- I can't stop goggling at the cardboard sets and overall poor production values compared to modern programs ...
Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
Nobody has mentioned Jon Pertwee, brilliant.

He was, he brought humour and eccentricity to it, with a dash of sex appeal.

Re: Excuse me. I have an important announcement to make.
Never saw Blake's 7, but I just looked it up and it reminds me (at least superficially) of the original Battlestar Galactica. Which was another show I couldn't get into because I was so in love with the newer remake ...
Then again, the original BSG had Starbuck excited about bringing a three-headed singer aboard the Galactica in what couldn't have been more than a month after the annihilation of the Colonies. Come on!
