Cliff Richard over claim of sex crime from 1980s

Entertainer voluntarily re-interviewed by South Yorkshire police and denies the allegations relating to a young boy

Sir Cliff Richard has been re-interviewed by South Yorkshire police after meeting officers voluntarily, his spokesman said on Thursday night.

Detectives interviewed the entertainer under caution last year in relation to a claim of a sex crime involving a young boy in the 1980s, but he was not arrested or charged.

A spokesman said Richard spoke to officers again this week.

“Sir Cliff Richard voluntarily met with and was interviewed by members of South Yorkshire police. He was not arrested or charged, nor has he ever been,” he said.

I think he is "Gladys", yes. Many witnesses say he is.

Agree, they had the records on Elm House. John Mann on Wednesday gave a very impassioned speech to a select committee in the HOC, because he had been able (when people had said for so long it had been lost) to track down one of the dossiers given to Leon Britton. Maybe that is why Cliff Richard went to the police again.

No it isn't, John Mann has just managed to track down one of the lost files, thank goodness. Every abused child deserves justice, it ruins their lives completely and abusing children the the very worst and nobody, whatever their colour, creed, or influence, should be able to get away with it.

No it's not, and if you had been abused you would not think that. Time makes no difference. They had enough evidence to put others away and a jury decide.

I'd like to see the evidence - if there is any. It just sounds like a load of old gossips to me.

They've been "looking into it" for ages now, and can't seem to find any evidence. It's just harassment IMO. What about when the police tipped off the BBC so they filmed them raiding his house?

They have evidence, they number of people they are investigating and the amount of more evidence they have to uncover is what is taking the time. It's so huge and spreads so far.
