It must be a huge relief for him.
Can you imagine living a good life and having a fabulous career like he has....then suddenly on the word of some anonymous person, and even he has no idea who.....your whole life comes crashing down in such a horrible way.

The S Yorkshire police are idiots and liars....they can add this travesty to the Hillsborough one they caused.

The other thread was full of hearsay and slander and as the title suggested rumour. Old videos of interviews that had been taken completely out of context to imply that he was a pervert.....also making out that the fact he was gay in some way implied he must also be a paedophile.......ridiculous.

The threads imo didn't belong together, but it wasn't my suggestion to lock the other one.

Here it is. Hard to believe that someone of his public profile would actually write something like that and there's no certainty that its authentic. Also on that list is Jess Conrad who was also a famous pop star at the time.

Cliff Richard still feels he hasn't been properly cleared. Insufficient evidence isn't the same as no evidence.

I doubt he will sue over this because the last thing he will want is to give those who accused him more air time in court to repeat their allegations. Even if he won it would still be damaging to him as all the allegations would surely become public.

A lot of that writing is obviously written by the same hand.

But even if all the sigs were genuine it doesn't prove that all the people who signed the register knew what was going on in private areas.
There are so called respectable establishments that have secret goings on not privy to everyone.....the places Saville frequently carried out his abuse highlight that fact.

That's true Syl and it's not against the law for people just to go there so he hasn't done anything wrong in that respect. What went on there was the alleged abuse of young kids but there is no evidence to suggest he was involved in that.

I have liked his songs, but he's shifty. Always thought so and I don't buy the "asexual Saint cliff" persona, either.

The police would not have publicly stated that they 'apologised wholeheartedly' if they had any doubts about his innocence.
As for Cliff feeling that he has not been completely exonerated, I can understand that.....maybe he will sue, but the man is 75, and all this at the end of such a successful life and career must have been horrific for him.

I think it's entirely possible he didn't know. I have known of clubs that have a respectable veneer but have shady goings on behind the scene that most people have no idea about.

As for his sexuality...I don't think over the last 3 or 4 decades he has denied being gay.....what he doe say is he is a Christian and his sex life isn't open for discussion, and why should it be?
He could hardly flaunt the fact he was gay in the 60's...it was against the law.

Well we don't know the date when that list was created alleging that he did actually go there and whether that coincides with the dates when the allegations of child abuse actaull took place so I don't know.

I only liked his early songs like The Young One's etc.
