“I’ve been homeless on and off since I was 13 due to family problems,” Claire says. “I came to London and started to sleep on the streets between being in and out of prison. The other people on the streets were my family – we looked out for each other.”
Claire’s story mirrors others from homeless women around Britain, but she was able to get help. “I was found by the St Mungo’s Broadway Street Impact team who got me into a hostel and helped me to have a less chaotic life,” she says, where she has been involved in supporting other homeless women.
Yet for a number of other women living on the streets, the threat of physical attack or sexual assault has forced them into hiding. Invisible and marginalised, they have limited access to essential support.
can these people be helped before 20000 foreigners...

Of course British homeless people should take priority.
Why?
When you can help both?
You see its not really homeless that sways your decision, but something invented, called British.
What's wrong with being British? You make it sound like it's a bad thing.

When you talk about people running away you show your complete ignorance of the situation. There are two sides terrorising these people, Assad and ISIS. If they fight for Assad they will end up having to kill their own people, maybe even their own families. If they fight for ISIS the same is true. There is no side they can join to fight for those they don't want to kill people. You're a prick Tommy, a first class, unadultered, 100% prick, with the knowledge of a cucumber. I absolutely and sincerely hope that one day you get put in the same position, I really do.
Well Sassy my girl, that's not strictly true.
Now I don't expect you to know these things in the safety of the UK but there are many groups in Syria fighting against both ISIS & Assad. And those Syrian refugees,& I use the term lightly, have been in receipt of regular offers from the various groups to fight primarily ISIS.
But they turn the offers down for various reasons. However, the opportunities are there for them in abundance.
And that's no ifs or buts. But they would sooner leave their country rather than fight for it.
So you are saying a country should supercede your own families safety?
Even more so if they have no means to support their family
Wow
Bout sums up your stupidity really

Never did.

It makes sense to deal with problems that are already here before taking on new problems, yes?

So you are saying any new problem should get just placed to one side then.
So if there was a new pandemic tomorrow, this should be placed to one side until we have resolved other problems like homelessness then?
Or work to resolve both?

I am asking why, when the problem is homelessness which includes refugees?
What about EU citizens Homeless residing here?
Foreign born residing in the UK who may have worked for sometime here?

Re: the reality for homeless women in Britain....
Foreign nationals here under the pretense of working who are not working should be returned to their, country of origin.
EU nationals here not working and/or homeless should be returned to their home nations.
AFricans arriving in the EU should be returned to the African union and people arriving from the middle east should be returned to the Arab league to deal with.
Both African union add Arab league collectively control vast land areas with huge resources and money... they are their problem and should be sent back to them to deal with.
