I think it's a problem if someone can change your account details.... is there a security issue we need to know about.......

Re: may i ask who changed the signature on my account and how??
I know. Some persons have a different notion of how to govern a website. They think that altering the posts, titles and, now, signatures of others is permissible in the name of the good of the community. What they really mean is that their own ideas are the 'good', and everyone else's are not.
What is wrong with this thesis is that no one person is synonymous with 'good'. The error in equating oneself with the 'good of the community' is you run the risk of deactivating the flow of ideas and allowing your mission to creep from 'good' to personal gain. Personal gain can take many forms, including supplanting another's ideas with your own political and social beliefs just because you believe they are good.
The way we counter this inequity is to craft a rule that will vouchsafe the ideas of freedom of speech, expression and self-determination. It is not a rule to be compromised by someone's paternal idea of the 'good of the community'. To assure that we follow this rule in this electronic era, we craft a corollary that moderators will not alter what another writes. That includes everything, and assures what we write will not be changed to accommodate the moderator's benefits and/or beliefs.
I'm sure most of us embrace this, it's just that occasionally some people must be reminded, or otherwise be shown how their own actions are violating this.

Sorry, I saw you posting that image over and over and thought you might want it for your sig, so I found a version with a smaller url and put it in your sig file.
Admins have a lot of power but we try to use it judiciously. I edited VOD's sig file a few days ago to remove some broken code that made the sig look messy.
May I ask that you use the shorter URL for that image if you want to use it in the future? The length of it may actually be causing problems for other users here.

Re: may i ask who changed the signature on my account and how??
Well, it's kind of complicated, but basically, when I was trying to change my own signature to what it is currently, it wouldn't accept all that text -- so I had to make it an image in order for it to work.
Then, when quoting and replying to HF's posts where he had that image at the bottom, I started getting all the confirmation codes that other users have been getting, and I thought the problem might be that the site is "suspicious" of so much code in a single post.
So I figured the best way to stop that would be to find a copy of the photo HF has been using as a signature that has a smaller URL and would actually fit in his sig file.
Just trying to help him not have to post that code every time in order to get the image to show up, and to help others trying to talk to him not have to enter a confirmation code all the time.

Yep I keep getting asked for confirmation codes when replying to HF with that picture.
Its a pain I must say.

Yeah, I think we're going to have to request that people not use images that have all that coding. I'll be happy to help anyone who can't find a shorter URL for an image they want to post.

Very good. There's a difference between technical changes and editing someone else's content. There's no problem with a board choosing the font size, or placing limits on the size of signatures.
My comments are reserved for those who presume their privileges extend to changing a user's content.

Objection!
You mean "thread title" not content. Be specific now Quill.

the problem with that kind of code is it "can" cause a stack overflow and that`s probably why the confirmation code kept appearing as i noticed it only happened to me when replying to posts that had all that code in and not others
but all sorted now so thats good

Havnt you worked out what his pathetic little game is yet EIL
he doesnt like other folks signatures and hopes by posting that piece of immense garbage he will make Ben lock off signatures....
he's being a spoilt brat....
this is demonstrated by the fact that he has had the solution to this given to him on a plate by two people now....
and he has deliberately and maliciously ignored it.

Meh. I said ages ago that Sassy's huge signature was absurd - that was before anyone else mentioned them. Since then, there have been other huge sigs.

It's only a tiny one. I think some people are abusing the signature option, and it's become a signature war zone. I was on a particular forum years ago where you could hardly read the posts because of all the huge, flashing, colourful signatures.

and when it comes to dumb folk your not only on the top of the list but the king of dumb
but as you nether believe in evolution or that we are descended from apes (well not you )seems odd you use a evolutionary slight
and as i don`t think your opinion is in the majority you just make your self look more dumb especially since you can`t even post pictures with out fucking it up even with instructions
