I've always been frustrated at how the denialists fail or refuse to acknowledge, or just plain don't know, about some of the the main people pushing denialism for decades now.

Frederick Seitz: Began publishing papers pushing climate change denialism in the early 1990s. Before that, he "played a key role... in helping the tobacco industry produce uncertainty concerning the health impacts of smoking" despite being described by Phillip Morris Tobacco itself as:

"quite elderly and not sufficiently rational to offer advice."

Fred Singer: Climate change denialist. Also denies that ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancer, that chlorofluorocarbons deplete the ozone layer and that second-hand smoking can cause cancer. Also, in 1960 asserted that Mars' moon Phobos must be an artificial satellite that was launched into orbit by Martians.

Willie Soon and Sallie Baliunas: Climate change denialists who have received over $1.2 million in research grants from the fossil fuel industry over the past 14 years. Published climate change papers claiming to represent research funded by groups such as NOAA, NASA and the US Air Force -- which didn't fund any of their climate research. Baliunas is also a CFC denialist. Soon works for the climate think-tank founded by Seitz.

Gordon Fulks: Presents himself as a climate expert, despite being funded by mostly free-market and right-wing think tanks and having published a whopping total of TWO scientific papers on climate change -- the last in 1981.

The list goes on and on ...

But that's what denialism is.

If you acknowledge that the world is getting warmer, there has to be a reason. The sun's not getting hotter; the planet's not getting closer to the sun. (Actually the sun's cooling slightly and we're gradually drifting away from it.)

So we have to have a terrestrial explanation.

We've linked past warming events to greenhouse gases. We've measured greenhouse gas concentrations from eons ago, using science), and greenhouse gas concentrations from now, and we know that our atmosphere has a very high relative concentration of greenhouse gases now.

We know that burning fossil fuels puts more greenhouse gas into the atmosphere than the planet can naturally sequester.

So denialists need to come up with a better explanation, because anthropogenic warming is by far the best one there is.

No, I provided a link for you explaining how they have come to their conclusions. If you actually read it you'd see why they know that the warming of today (which is happening over a few centuries) is different from the warming in the past (which happened over hundreds of thousands of years, if not longer).

If you'd set aside your biases, you might accidentally allow yourself to understand it, you know!

Global warming is a fact, what is sad is when people deny this when faced with overwhelming evidence. Tha vast majority of scientists agree on this except those in the pocket of the fuel industries. It is important not so much for ourselves but the generations we leave behind and how they will suffer if we all gave such a view of not caring for others after us. If we can slow down this then more people can live in a more suitable climate, one that have no need to suffer from with.

Sadly some people remain in denial, because they do not want to open their eyes to the truth.
The truth means having to change and sadly people fear change and also a loss in revenue.

I am not denying that there is "climate change", but I absolute refuse to believe that mankind is responsible for all of it. There is a lot of money being made here for people who are pushing the idea.

How would they lose money, when it is the few scientists in the hands of fuel companies that of which these companies have their hands in any innovative new fuel source. So much so they buy into them that they never see the light of day. I suggest Nicko you look at this with impartiality and you will see who really stands to lose money here.
