Aintree Racecourse Viral Video Shows Man 'Knocking Over OAP' While His Friend Laughs
A man has handed himself into police after a video of an Aintree racegoer appearing to deliberately knock an elderly man to the ground went viral.
In the video, filmed by a friend of the man on a mobile phone, onlookers can be heard gasping in shock and seen rushing to the man's aid before calling for an ambulance, just outside the course where the Grand National was held two days later.
But the friend filming continues to laugh throughout the incident. The younger man, apparently drunk, walks up to the other man before barging roughly into him and seems not to notice when the older man falls to the ground and does not move.

It is obvious that the man who knocked him over is "pissed" he couldn't walk straight.

That does not excuse his actions, as clearly why were they filming the event.
It was clearly premeditated Nicko

This is the edited video.
He handed himself in because his name and the company he works for were all over the net.
He is getting up and down kerbs fine. He thought it was funny. He is an arse hole. It was deliberate, did you hear the old mans head hit the road?
His teeth and his phone were broken too. Enough money has already been raised to replace them though.
Stupid drunken scum

Well since clearly the incidents of drunken behaviour are increasing we will have to restrict alcohol sales.
I suggest a tax od £10 per pint of beer and £30 per bottle of wine and £70 per bottle of spirits
with all "alco-pops" having a tax of £190
plus "drunk in public" shall have a 3 year minimum sentence

Tad harsh and making all culpable to what some idiots do Victor.
So not viable or fair.
What should happen is any such incidents they are fined heavily, plus the medical costs.

hm...how come THAT is "harsh" and "not fair" by reason of "making all culpable to what some idiots do"
and yet the hand gun ban (which changed nothing as far as crime was/is concerned) was "perfectly fair and reasonable"??
THAT also was "collective punishment"
and wrong
and unfair to many many people
AND moreover...if "guns are unnecessary" how more unnecessary is alcohol in reality????

We are talking about drinking being charged at a high rate, which is far removed from arguing over who has a right to guns, so your argument is based off different views points where again your anger at the laws on guns is creating an unjsutified view on drinking.
Again punish those who commit wrongs whilst drinking with heavy fines. Those who drink sensible, need to not be punished with outlandish costs.
You would also make the pub industry go out of buisness.

Not really the issues are very much the same, vis an individual sadly caused a number of tragic deaths with a hand gun...so they were banned, thus punishing ALL who had an interest (and you must realise that I personally dont need or want a hand gun)
with drink A NUMBER of individuals year in year out cause a much larger number of tragic and unnecessary deaths (especially when combined with motors) so again ALL should under the same thinking, be punished...simply put ...whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander
unless of course you stand for double standards...

Again you are going off two different tangents.
So again your view just does not make any sense.

I think he was being filmed because he was drunk, not because he was going to knock someone over, whatever, he should be fined for assault. I could be wrong but that;s just my take on it.

Merseyside Police said they were questioning a 34-year-old man from Formby in Sefton who came forward late last night and he was interviewed under caution about the alleged assault.
Police established the mobile phone footage, shot by a friend of the 34-year-old, was taken outside the racecourse on Thursday evening.

It doesn't matter whether it was an accident or not; you knock someone down, it's not funny. You help them back up and see if they're okay and act like a human being.
