SOME religious schools in many 'secular' countries, and many public schools in Repub' controlled states in the US, are these days pre-empting any lectures on subjects they don't agree with ~ such as those concerning evolution, genetics, global warming, past history of scientific research ~ with their own critical mini-lectures claiming such notions to be false, left-wing 'liberal' propoganda, the work of the Devil, or whatever, in an attempt to get around any secular teaching laws preventing their 'proselytising' within their schools. Especially where they are drawing on public funding..  


OVER HERE, I'd expect any teacher(s) who insisted on behaving as that dude in England did, could these days find himself "dragged across the coals", given a warning, and possibly finding himself transferred at the end of the year.
AS SOME school teachers have indeed tried to apply such silly restrictions over here in the recent past, against the department of educations own guidelines, and caused a lot of protests from large groups of parents.

I can see the confusion as to whether this is a PC move or not, but I'm inclined toward the "not" side. My highschool offers 'scripture' in Catholicism Protestant Jewish Muslim Buddhism Hinduism and Secular humanism. because it IS multicultural and Not run by a moron (and it did that in the 90's when I was attending) so obviously Yeah I find this pretty annoying when people use an 'Idiot doing something stupid' to suggest that something I lived, enjoyed and believe I am a better person because of doesn't work.
