Commuter bumps into fellow passenger and says 'go f*** yourself'
Hours later he turns up for job interview and is faced by... guess who?
An HR executive found himself interviewing the same man who launched a foul-mouthed tirade at him earlier the same day.
Recruiter Matt Buckland claimed the job seeker told him to "go f*** yourself" as they both got off a packed rush hour train on Monday morning.
Little did he realise his harsh words on the District Line were aimed at the very man who would be interviewing him later that day.
Mr Buckland is head of recruitment for investment firm Forward Partners, based in East Road, Old Street, where the angry commuter had applied for a web development role.

You really have to be careful who you tell to go f*** yourself

I read the whole of this article the other say and the interviewer said the guy didn't get the job but not because of his rudeness earlier that day, he just "wasn't right for it"

Re: Commuter bumps into fellow passenger and says 'go f*** yourself'
Of course they would deny that was the reason, eds.
But who would want to work with such an unpleasant person anyway? I think it's quite legitimate to say he didn't get the job, and that experience is the reason why.
After all, if he showed up for the interview drunk, wouldn't that be a concern? It's always about basic character, whatever the job.
Live and learn.

How sad is that because of one reaction and what we all have, sometimes a bad day, he does not get the job, because he is wrongly perceived of how he acted on one given day.
So much for having a bad day, as it seems you are rightly or wrongly judged on that based on no science.
In other words gobbledygook.

How so, when you have now been broadcast to the world as being unhappy you are unemployed and now even worse because you have been made public for losing your cool as we all do, that you will be now condemned to getting little chance of employment?
He has been condemned on the actions of one day and yet as seen people are quick to judge.
Have good evening buddy and catch you later

Sorry Didge...the bloke is an anti social arsehole....
you just dont...I mean NO ...just dont.....act like that to a total stranger who has done you no harm.
I bet if he had said "go f*** yourself" you black b*******d you would be all over him like a rash....It would be "inexcuseable" and "wacist", and the racial NKDV would be out in full flow. The guy would be in court and "having a bad day" just wouldnt cover it.

I think nowadays, we have too readily accepted bad language and rudeness as being "okay" when, in fact, it's not.
How would you have felt didge, if that man had said that to your mother or wife, for instance?
I know what I'd have done and said!!
But of course, befroe the world of Twitter and facebook etc, no one would've known about it and the interviewee would've gotten away with being rude without any future would-be employer knowing anything about it!

Re: Commuter bumps into fellow passenger and says 'go f*** yourself'
fair enough he didn't get this job and they didn't publish his name so it wont effect future employment..
There are other people that get 'Twitted to Fame' for more unfair reasons and deserve sympathy far more than this guy.

What a load of bollocks Victor, as he never said you black bastard and that would have been racist, where again it matters little what you think because now the interviewer has a bias against the person applying for the role, which he cold take to an industrial tribunal if he wanted to and would have a strong case. In fact the person interviewing him should of even excused himself from the interview because of unfair bias, so you really have no ground to stand on this Victor what so ever. Everyone can have a bad day, so your poor attempt to deflect to something else is just nothing more than balderdash.
What I would like to know and what is missing from the story is if the interviewer did that made the man swear at him. Did he push past him? Did he knock him and spill a drink he was having, maybe he was racist, sexist, homophobics? Lets face it I can think of many reasons why you might end up swearing at someone and for good reason. The fact is the twat in all of this might have been the person who was the interviewer, but no doubt the version comes from him and we will never know

Why is it you and others keep posting about something completely different. This is about what he said to the interviewer not anybody else and we have no idea why or if he had good reason too. What is the person deserved to be sworn at because he was rude pushing past someone? He refused to give up his seat for a pregnant woman? He was racist, homophobic or sexist?
We have little, as we have a one sided version of the events to go on and all have take the view that the man who swore is in the wrong, funny that

well I supopose thats a possibility....

BUT ask yourself this ...if that was the case...why bother going through with the interview.....would you want a boss like that...do you think it would ever work,,,,IIf THAT was the scenario i'd have told him to shove it there and then.....

Re: Commuter bumps into fellow passenger and says 'go f*** yourself'
From the article in the OP.
"At Monument station, I stood to one side to let someone else off the train first and I think he thought I was just standing in his way.
"He pushed and I turned, I explained I was getting off too but he pushed past and then looked back and suggested I might like to f*** myself... which might have been true but not before a few cups of coffee."

[quote="Irn Bru"]
Its very clear we only have one side of the events, this seems to puzzle you though Irn.
The chap you never got the job now because of this attention seeking HR guy, could now be taken to a tribunal for unfair bias based on his need to be famous.
Did this ever figure into your thinking?

What evidence do you have that the interviewer showed bias and that the chap didn't get the job because there were better candidates?
You're just making this up as you go along.

Well actually no. You're just making your mind up on no evidence, in other words making it up. - I'm just stating what evidence is currently available and according to the article both parties left on good terms,,,,laughing about it actually.

Based on the evidence yes. Has it been disputed by the interviewee? Have you seen any feed back from him to counter the evidence? You haven't have you?
So you don't know if he should have been offered the job. That's it - you don't know.
Until I see any evidence that events may unfold as you suggest they could then it's a done deal.

Re: Commuter bumps into fellow passenger and says 'go f*** yourself'
I have to be honest, I wouldn't have employed the guy either. Perhaps he was having a bad day, perhaps he was stressed about the interview; it's no excuse.
He demonstrated how he copes with stress and not in a good way. He has no one to blame but himself, he messed up, we all do at times.
