How the Repubican Party Bought, Rigged, Stole and Lynched the 2014 Election
Since the Bush-Cheney-Rove theft of the 2000 election in Florida, the right of millions of American citizens to vote and have that vote counted has been under constant assault.
In 2014, that systematic disenfranchisement may well have delivered the US Senate to the Republican Party. If nothing significant is done about it by 2016, we can expect the GOP to take the White House and much more.
The primary victims of this GOP-led purge have been young, elderly, poor and citizens of color who tend to vote Democratic. The denial of their votes has changed the face of our government, and is deepening corporate control of our lives and planet.

Re: How the Repubican Party Bought, Rigged, Stole and Lynched the 2014 Election
While in many ways the Democratic Party looks about as limp now as it did back in '84, I'm hopeful that a wake-up call election like this along with some strong new voices, first and foremost Elizabeth Warren, will help.
The Republican plan is a house of cards and demographics are eventually going to bury them if they don't change quite a bit -- I think it's just a bad case of can't-remember-10-years-back-itis that the voting public needs to shake. The GOP can't keep saying it's working to strengthen the U.S. economy while all the tangible evidence points in the exact opposite direction. We're heading toward a Chinese-style exploited labor force, with corporations making insane short-sighted and self-interested gambles with the busts paid for in U.S. debt, in their scheme.
The Democrats for at least 10 years should have been able to win each election simply by showcasing what Republicans do; it's time for chicken-shit appeasement to end.

The two parties are focusing on different things. Republicans look to power aimed at self-interest. Democrats look to govern effectively.
While Democrats focus on things like healthcare and cleaning up messes like the Commodity Futures Modernization Act (forbade regulation of derivatives) and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, or Financial Services Modernization Act, (eliminated New Deal barriers to mergers of stockbrokers, commercial and investment banks and insurance companies, abolishing all of the significant rules put in place at the time of the Great Depression designed to prevent a repeat), Republicans are out thinking up new mischief. Growing roots in local politics has allowed Republicans to perform their anti-democratic antics like they did in Florida in the 2000 election. In sum, while Democrats govern, Republicans do mischief.
It's like a sitcom. Democrats are always surprised and caught off-guard when confronted with Republican mischief. Democrats are motivated by making the system work, Republicans are motivated by selfishness.
Which one is the Republican?
