Far right party lose in Austrian election
Could this be the resurgence of centre ground politic in Europe. After the Lib Dems beat Goldsmith and his rabid Brexiteers in the UK, now the left have defeated the Alt Right glock carrying Nazi in Austria.
People are coming to their senses.

Hopefully it's a wake up call, to the dangerous resurgent populist right.Handy Andy wrote:Could this be the resurgence of centre ground politic in Europe. After the Lib Dems beat Goldsmith and his rabid Brexiteers in the UK, now the left have defeated the Alt Right glock carrying Nazi in Austria.

Much depends on the actions across the pond, if Theresa May has bottled it, then a GE is 3 years away, 3 years of Trump and the far right might be seen to have less than a solution and more a form of caution, especially if the opposition gets its act together and starts to gather momentum.
Austria, could well see a decline in far right ideology, theres a fine sense of irony in that, although I fear Trump could use such populist right clap trap to his advantage, they own the media, they set the agenda.
That depends on just how much of a cock up the incomming left make of things doesnt it....
The irony, as you say, is delicious, but dont get too excited yet....
