Why are these children still in her care?

She has been found guilty of deliberately slashing the heels of her baby with a razor blade.

That baby and a sibling are still in the care of her and her partner.

Why?

Dear God! What are SS thinking????
I'm sick of these people. They are pathetic at their jobs.
Time and again, when I worked within education, we'd see vulnerable children slip through the net, let down by the system who's favourite saying "our hands are tied" was no help to the families that needed it.

THESE DAYS, the courts are seemingly often no longer putting the interests of the children first !!! Even though government policy often still dictates that the safety and welfare of the child 'should' be of paramount importance..

WHEN "political correctness" takes precedence over "common sense", "common decency" and doing the right thing, we s this kind of ridiculous outcome, where some misguided nongs in the court system sees fit to keep the families together as long as possible ~ even when some of those family members may be further endangered by such actions..

AND sometimes it can also be made even worse again, if the family/children safety/welfare 'system' is further compromised by cuts to funding or shortfalls in staff numbers. pale

What more evidence do they need that the children are at risk? I mean you will see children taken off perfectly good loving parents who maybe have a lower IQ on the grounds that the children might be at risk of emotional harm at some unspecified point in the future - but cut the babies feet with a razor blade and obviously there is no risk whatsoever to the children Evil or Very Mad

But he torments me with spiders.

@sphinx, I'm not,sure what planet the SS are in sometimes but I have seem them ring the parents of at risk children to,let them know they are coming in two days!
I mean.....WTF??!!

Years ago there was a family down my street - the parents were heroin addicts but on "help" programs and the 2 daughters kept being put in care only to be sent back to the parents because they were trying so hard on the help program. This continued until the eldest was 12 or 13 and told the social workers if she and her sister were sent back she would take her sister and run away to the foster parents she was currently with - she had told the foster parents as well. It took the threat of the children running back to care for them to finally be rescued.

Sphinx this happened to someone very close to me also.

I have known so many stories from the school I worked in....it would break your heart.

Mind you I have seen some who desperately need the help and who could have benefited be so terrified of SS that they refuse to have anything to do with them and bring about the very thing they feared

If i was her social worker I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, its disgusting.
