Amazon patent enabling "used" e-book & other digital product sales? Empty Amazon patent enabling "used" e-book & other digital product sales?

The idea is that you could sell your "used" e-book, app, etc. to another user in exchange for the rights being removed from your devices to use the sold item. The problem is that a "used" e-book isn't worn, faded, torn, smudged, opened, etc. -- so why would anybody buy "new" anymore?
