Kate Nash's music teacher imprisoned 18 months for possessing 50,000 child porn images

Kate Nash's former music teacher has been jailed for 18 months for amassing more than 50,000 “loathsome” child abuse and bestiality images.

Derek Berditch, 58, who taught the pop star as head of music at St Joan of Arc catholic school, Herts, was caught with his haul when detectives were tipped off by an internet company that child porn was being distributed amongst a paedophile ring.

Judge Andrew Goymer, at Southwark Crown Court, said it was a "staggering number of images… of the most loathsome variety".

He added: “This defendant either did not appreciate or did not care about the harm he was doing because he was more interested in his pornography obsession and downloading these images.

"This is not a harmless hobby like stamp collecting and it is not a victimless offence.

It seems that he's the type who doesn't think that people like himself, who want images of child abuse, actually prompt more child abuse. I really wish these people would realize that such images wouldn't exist if it weren't for people like him. It's your basic supply and demand.
