^Ubuntu, Ben wtf lol?
The Odyssey is a great choice btw
And Eddie Dean remains one of the few characters in literature who can genuinely make me PMSL but also cry in utter sympathy, man I love those books...
@Cass
Highway to Hell, what a perfect choice!
Paris was a close second for me for cities, I think the theatre culture of London just edged it for me though. Paris is like one big gorgeous outdoor museum x
Coke is interesting for a favourite brand, I love coke personally (it hits all the right buttons in a warm climate) but they aren't a 'good' company in terms of rep (I've seen the sugar content, I know why).
^Are you dissin' the Spice Girls now Cass? First 1D now this, is nothing sacred???

Comics Sans is now the most popular font so far, wtf people haha
@Veya- Uhtred is awesome, though I haven't got round to even buying the Pagan Lord yet (so no spoilers!) I have loved the whole of the Saxon Stories so far, Cornwell is such a great writer and really captures the periods he writes about perfectly

Re: Twenty totally random questions about you...
Tbf Andy that is a good point. But if you spend a lot of time typing then most likely you will have a font you always choose and that is probably your favourite. The 3 most common ones I think are Times, Arial and Comic Sans, most people know them

@ everybody
HUH!!!! ??
One question not there and should be
And finally, what is your password reminder
Jesus people do you lack any common sense..............
Although I don't think anything is malicious about the op or its intension
The very last thing i would do is answer the questions with any degree of accuracy

Not everybody is constantly thinking bad things.
It's harmless fun - i don't think there are any personal things in there.
And i guess you said it - that question isn't there.

i have been in this industry for 30 years and yes what appears like harmless fun 99.9% of the time is just that
Harmless fun
You put all the information together and it builds up a pretty good picture of the person or persons
Am I overly paranoid perhaps, but then I have seen first hand how it can affect people and know full well how the data people think is insignificant.... Really isn`t
I have said till i am blue in the face don`t put accurate personal information on the web
Especially lists asking what your favorite X,Y,Z
i would like to add this isn`t directed at Eilzel per say
i would make the same comments whoever and have done in the past
as you may remember

Nowt wrong with what you're doing.
Probably all good advice.
That's personal security, and hopefully the forum also has our best interests at heart and if anybody does use personal information against another poster, the mods will take action.

That's personal security, and hopefully the forum also has our best interests at heart and if anybody does use personal information against another poster, the mods will take action.
However, personal information isn`t personal if you publish it on the internet your self or a government department publishes it
And my concerns have less to do with the privacy issues and more to do with data security
FOR eample and that's all it is
What's your favorite movie ,first street you lived in ,mothers maiden name ect ect
All questions used in security checks
These kind of questions can be used to glean what seems like innocuous information, but its far from it

I totally get where you are coming from KD, and I know you try and help keep people safe on the net, but I don't think people knowing I like Jo in Little Women is going to put me in danger, but thank you anyway, because I appreciate what you are trying to do.

Paranoia is a very real issue with people who smoke weed all the time.

Maybe so, maybe not, but that is not why KD said it, known him a long time, talk to him and he is a great believer in not giving out any personal information of any kind and he knows what he is talking about.

There isn't a connection. KD's point of view comes from knowledge.

Err the only thing smokers are paranoid of is getting arrested for smoking weed for the most parteddie wrote:Sassy wrote:

And trust me the last thing i am is paranoid
That's like calling the guy who is telling you that you're too close to the edge of that cliff paranoid
What you call paranoid is experience and a deeper understanding of the topic

Re: Twenty totally random questions about you...
No worries Korben I know you meant nothing against me. If it makes you feel better though I'd guess none of the posters here would be putting anything that compromises security on the internet up as an answer to these kinds of questions
@sassy, Cadbury's, now I think I may have to reconsider my answer (a lament the lack of Cadbury products over here...).
Jason is also top, recently read the whole Argonautica for final Uni project only to decide not to use it (instead using the Boar hunt I answered with) it was worth the read though

The problem I have noticed is people don't see the links I do in the information how one innocent comment can reveal more about you than intended "you ever seen the mentalist,or Darran brown" these (not in this case obviously) are the new strategies hackers are using
If you can build a data model of a person their likes, dislikes, the movies or tv shows they watch you can work out how they think it's really not that difficult
Take the recent Facebook controversy
http://www.theverge.com/2014/6/29/5855710/facebook-responds-to-psychology-research-controversy
You guys (the royal you guys) have no idea how much of what you say about yourself reveals about you its truly scary to watch
I have spent a large part of my career trying to educate people on the "internet" and how dangerous it can be never take anything at face value (did you try the test ) even i got one wrong
yes i can go on about it a bit but unless its hammered in people forget
