After someone asked Admin dean on Flap forum a question this was his reply.
I will highlight what I believe to be the relevant section:

FlapGallagher wrote:
the chit chat section and 70000 posts disappeared when sassy made her complaint, the only conclusion is that FM or sassy's hacker friend deleted them as I certainly did not. there is no mention of them being deleted in the admin panel and it shows all changes done to the forum and users. so whoever deleted them had direct access to the databases, something admins on FM sites do not have.

So if forumotion have no direct access to the databases, who deleted them and how?

Well Eddie, simply to prove to you what a total liar Dean is, I will post a pm that was to me, so it's mine to post.

It says, as I can't enlarge it:

Yes they do - that's how free forums work. They could read it for themselves anyway, and then decide to delete it.

No worries, he knew anyway because he complained to them in the thread on the Forumotion site, so he's a liar if he says he didn't.

They haven't even asked the admin of the hacked site if the hacking took place or advised the admin of the site where hacked pms were posted for info concerning the hacking.

They don't need to, they can look at everything, they are their sites so they don't have to ask permission, that is how they are still investigating. The taking down of chit chat was a stop gap while they continue.

I don't think they have to tell me anything. I've done what I can to check into the issue; I couldn't find evidence of other members here logging in as HandyAndy or as Sassy.

Well ... I can check some things. The whole admin team can. For example, if we suspect someone has multiple IDs, we can check to see whether members are posting from the same IP address. So we get something that looks like this:

Will this clear things up re Hackergate? Hckrgte_zpscda8d3e5

But that's not foolproof, because I actually have a second ID (as I've made it clear before) -- I'm also Ramblin' Rodriguez. So you can see that there's not a lot we can do to track down this sort of tomfoolery in the first place. Whereas Forumotion may have access to everything ever typed and sent here, even deleted threads and discarded PMs.

I don't think so but I can't really be sure, like I say. I can say that I don't think anybody who is a member here got into one of their accounts with a fair degree of certainty, but even that's not guaranteed.

I want to make this clear, I'm posting this because I think the flap forum and dean in particular have been given a raw deal re these supposed "hacked" PMs.

This is the pm I have received from dean, admin of Flap Forum:

o all members
regarding the chit chart section

there is a thread in chat chit explaining.
I got this apologetic message from FM today

Hello

It is a very embarrassing situation. I have contacted the litigation team and we had a discussion.
They receive a lot of complaint from Sassy. That the begenning they refused to act but I don't know exactly the reason why they changed their mind. I didn't read the complaints and maybe Sassy provided proofs.

If you want I can make a full backup of your forum. However, many messages will appear as unread.

I do personally apologize for the trouble. I think there is a misunderstanding. I will try to have more explanation.

Let me know for the back up

I am wainting for your answer

interesting that this admin uses the Sassys name in regards to a complaint and now that admin has emailed dean  to apologize regardless of the fact its in the hands of the litigation department

yea sounds fishy to me that does

An with all due respect as a mod on this site, you should not be posting this from flaps site which in essence is piling on sassy and Andy on this site who are involved in that complaint with the litigation department regarding the PM`s

if dean wants to have a go at them, then he should come on over
I don't hold with this by fights by proxy

and its not your job as a mod to defend flaps

This isn't about sassy.
It's about clearing dean from taking all the flack about those hacked Pm's
He wasn't around and it wasn't fair.

That's my point.

Hugh was the one that re-posted them, he's at fault not dean.

I understand how it looks but I honesty feel dean room the rap over this and it wasn't his fault.
KD believe me, I don't care who or what, I just stand by what I think is fair and this is nothing to do with sassy or anyone else in this instance (her name just happened to be mentioned)

You will see, in time, that even if you don't like or agree with me, I always do what I think is fair at the time.

It's about clearing dean from taking all the flack about those hacked Pm's
He wasn't around and it wasn't fair.

That's my point.

Hugh was the one that re-posted them, he's at fault not dean.

clearing dean ? is that your job
And dean is at fault christ he has posted worse and if you think huge was the only one involved than you're not paying attention
Dean I suspect knew full well what was going on he was logging on while he was away he said so
Huge is his best pall they have known each other for many years they phone each other the attempt at shit stirring on their part backfired yes it caused arguments but when it was taken to FM somebody had to fall on there sword and that was huge IMO

But he can't say that because if he admits any involvement bye bye site

So sorry; that doesn't wash.

I'm a poster first.

I agree you are a poster first.   There are some people who don't get that though.

I appreciate that sassy.

Never had a word of apology from there either - just a ban.

Fair enough post.
I have said to dean he needs mods or at least one other admin.

I did say Forum Motion would wash there hands of this, even more so when there is no evidence to point to any hacking. For them to restore the chit chat section says to me, they must feel it has come from someone with access to the PM's who passed them on.

Absurd, Irn and myself have ding dongs, it does not stop him being a moderator, you are taking this too personally because of past history with yourself and Dean.
The reality is, there was no evidence to any hacking. The only person who can answer has disappeared and that is Hugh

I don't see the problem with eddie posting about this here. It was discussed extensively before without anyone complaining.

Anyway at least Dean has an apology.
Dean got undeserved flack. Only Hugh knows the provenance of those pms and where is he?
There is no evidence of any hacking.Buttercup has spoken to litigation and they have decided to reinstate the posts and issue an apology to Dean.

Dean will deny it, even though he probably colluded with Hugh and had full knowledge.
As KD rightly said, any admission of guilt or knowledge by Dean would close Flop once and for all.
