If you could only save two things
Cos your house was going up in smoke. Not the normal ones, pets (for Cass and I, books) photo's etc and presuming all the people were out, what would it be.
Mine would be one of those great big plastic boxes on wheels with a lid that holds all my art gear that has taken me years to build up. But the other would be a box of buttons. For me, those buttons hold just about every memory. Leather buttons from my grandad's cardigan, pretty little flower buttons for one my Mum knitted for me when I was young, fancy buttons that decorated a dress I used to go dancing in, buttons I sewed on my kids clothes, buttons that were eyes for a favourite teddy bear. They would mean nothing to anyone else, to me they are the story of my life and the people I have loved.

Pictures of my dad and I have a bag with some of his belongings in, his aftershave, pyjamas and Tshirt he wore for he very last time and his lighter.
Even writing this brings tears to my eyes.

Know exactly what you mean, I always wear a silver chain with a silver rose on that Mum gave me, on it is a gold 'Mum' ring Jackie bought me in a charity shop and a cheap ring she was wearing when she died. Doesn't go with anything but I never take it off.

Photo albums, folders full of writing I've done over the years (alot of poetry) and a couple of ornaments I got from Egypt and China which were actually a little more unique among the repeated selections of gods snd Buddhas I saw in those countries

Now you have me thinking, writing! Mine is all in computer because I lost paper files that contained my poetry in a move a few years ago. Can I put my pooter in my art box?

You could just put it all on a USB and stick it in your bag, a lot more handy in case of emergencies lol

My wallet and my external hard drive. Obviously my wallet has all of my cards, cash, ID and some family pictures and my HD has important scanned documents and loads of pictures of family and friends that I would hate to lose.
