That's the key right there, which I bolded, I know it's not personal when it's not a relentless sort of thing.

I've tried to be chummy with people here ranging from Nems to BA, even to smelly (remember when I left him in charge?). A gesture of good will and no (permanent) hard feelings, even if we disagree on everything.

When that isn't reciprocated, I know the other person just has it in for me for whatever reason, and I honestly have no space for anyone who's like that, whether to me or to others, whether I agree with them on everything or not. It's "toxic," to use a term from pop psychology ...

Well people on here get very heated and there's a lot of bad history, so it does get personal.
But you have to remember it's BOTH sides that are wrong - if you want to call it that - but it does seem you think only a certain side is wrong.

Well Part of the Issue is that both sides are Often as bad as each other.  Neither Nems nor Sassy is without fault.

I didn't ask for this site to be made up of its current membership, but I made it a point to welcome everyone and try to get off on the best possible footing with them. You can look -- Allakaka was welcomed aboard, for Christ's sake. I didn't know anything about any of you except for the people Lurker, Veya and I invited from NewsHabit and ShortNews, the people I actually made this site for since we'd been hanging out at both sites and gotten pretty much royally fucked over at both.

We never asked Phil to invite everyone from InAFlap, ADO, etc. over here. None of us had ever heard of those sites and probably would not have until a huge wave of new users came over here -- many disgusted with those sites or migrating in order to keep kicking Phil.

You came and with few exceptions, most of you began carrying on your old feuds with no regard to mine or the other admins' endless requests to stop carrying on feuds from other sites. I mean, we said it again and again and again and again and again and again. And again.

You also (most of you) began trying to tell me who to like and who not to like, who was good and who was bad. It was an unfair situation to put me or any of us into and you should know that; none of us had any idea what kind of history existed between any of you ...

I think we need to take a leaf out of me Lady's book, by moving on from old grudges.

We are after all guests here and guests who take advantage of their hosts are not the best guests to have around, thus it is about time we allow them to enjoy the forum they set out to create and stop giving them daily headaches. We all have differences with some posters, but we are also adult enough to move on and debate. Fine take the piss in debates, but there is no need to cross the line and the door swings both ways to enter and leave a forum. Thus what people need to ask themselves is would they put up with guests like some of us daily in their own homes.

It is the weekend and it is the 4th of July, so am sending big celebrations to our Colonial friends.

You don't make people comfortable because all of your actions, even your examples, have you chummin' up to sassy and irn...the very people who go out and start target/hate threads on your own board.  **There...don't say I don't give you specific examples!**  You say, 'ask sassy.'   You beat up on Nems.  You argue back and forth with Eds.  And yet you have nothing to say about sassy and Irn and their target/hate threads.  Plus, you got veya cheering you on...to what?  Does that give you some idea of the impression you are making?
